DECEMBER SCHEDULE!!

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY and please be aware that this clinic consists of a vet, a tech and a volunteer and our prices reflect this. We do not have a receptionist. Emails and inquiries are answered mostly by the tech when she’s not in surgery so please be patient and keep trying to get scheduled if your first attempt isn’t answered immediately. It’s just as easy to send another email as it is to complain that you haven’t been answered😊

We need specific information to get you scheduled and your appointment will be delayed when we have to ask for more information. Please do not send multiple emails within 7 days. This frustrates Dina and you may never get scheduled🤣.

Your email should be sent to [email protected]

Please put CLINIC and what you are trying to schedule in the subject line (male kitten, 2 female rabbits, 30 pound male dog)

The following information needs to be in the email:

Your full name address and phone number.

The name of your pet(s), their age and s*x and description/color.

The services you would like to schedule for such as cat spay, vaccines and microchip, rabbit neuter, feral cat neuter. We can add services at the time of checkin but the more information we have the better we can serve you.

***Disclaimer: this post is being written with permission from the homeowner in order to possibly prevent another fire of its kind. Please be kind and do not post any negative comments on our page***

On Tuesday night just before 1am our crews were dispatched to the Canterbury Mews development for a reported dwelling fire. The neighboring upstairs unit called for smoke in their condo. After arriving and investigating it was determined that the smoke was coming from the downstairs unit.

Crews forced entry into the unit and were immediately met with smoke pouring out of the door. An unconscious dog was found and immediately removed from the unit. Crews made entry and found a working kitchen fire. While crews were extinguishing the fire, other crews performed a search of the unit for potential victims. Thankfully no one was home at the time of the fire, but several other pets were found during searches. Unfortunately none of the pets survived(smoke in today’s fires is very toxic). The fire was quickly brought under control.

During the fire investigation crews found a burner k**b in the on position, and remains of dog food were found on top of the stove. After speaking with the homeowner, it was confirmed that dog food was on top of the stove and that his dog was known to jump up on the counter. It was determined that the dog accidentally turned on the burner and started a fire in the kitchen.

This happens more than most would realize. This is the second fire of its type in our town over the last 3 years.

Please do not place ANYTHING on top of the stove, accidents happen all of the time. Todays fires grow faster then ever and the smoke more toxic. Please see below for some Pet/Stove Safety Tips.

PET-PROOF YOUR STOVE: Consider using stove k**b covers to prevent accidental activation.
SECURE THE AREA: Keep flammable items away from the stove
INSTALL/TEST SMOKE ALARMS: Ensure alarms are placed in strategic locations and are regularly tested.
HAVE A FIRE ESCAPE PLAN: Practice escape routes with your pets, and arrange for their care in emergencies.
BE AWARE OF YOUR PET’S BEHAVIOR: Some dogs may be drawn to the stove for warmth, increasing the risk of accidental activation
