A HUGE thanks to our trainer and mentor, John Martorelli of JMAC K9 Academy, for his guidance and constructive criticism and for our foundation bitch, Riot - now twelve years old and retired. Riot gave us Mia (retired) and Mia gave us Tali, seen here with her first brood. Tali was co- owned with a former friend and police officer who passed from glioblastoma brain cancer 4 years ago. We honor his memory. As of this post available are: one solid black female, one black and tan female, two sable females and two sable males available. We look for service, single or dual purpose, active pet home placements. All potential puppies are "shepherded" to their new homes with a training plan; train your dog or your dog will train you. Cross Keys K9 works with top-tier, experienced trainers across a variety of working and sporting disciplines. Puppies ready in two weeks! AKC Reunite has made five additional donations of $2,500.00 each ($12,500.00 in total) to The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County in Blountville, TN, Smoky Mountain Humane Society in Newport, TN, Washington County, TN Animal Shelter in Johnson City, TN, Humane Society of Valdosta Lowndes County in Valdosta, GA, and SPCA Tampa Bay in Tampa Bay, FL as they provide shelter and care for pets displaced from Hurricane Helene. We are incredibly thankful to everyone helping so many during this most difficult of times.

This is my Billy, he's going to leave me for service dog training for a veteran who served our country and needs some help navigating life after his military service. I always say a gift or a dog is not really worth giving unless it's something you would want for yourself. A piece of my heart goes with every dog that leaves here. It both breaks and warms my heart.

Brennan's Major Von Stolhammer received new orders to report to his permanent station with his father, Bob, for duty, and the Lord in perpetuity. We thank you for gracing us with your presence. A dog well respected by the NYPD, back in the day, before his father succumbed to cancer. And loved by his family, including Cross Keys K9, Major will always be remembered as an incredible dog with tremendous presence. His obsession with Ball, companion to Freya, socialization duties with several puppies, and his love of water and swimming will be fondly remembered. He was the epitome of the ideal Working Line German Shepherd, and one of the last few original dogs when we began our breeding program in 2010.

Our Story

Cross Keys K9 produces healthy, medium to high drive German Shepherds from European working bloodlines. Our breeding strategy includes health screening and health histories, pedigree analysis, genetic analysis, and overall estimation of what kind of puppies and dogs we will produce. This focused breeding program and appropriate quality controls help us develop working bloodlines that maximize performance, workability and longevity. We are AKC bred with H.E.A.R.T. breeders, in accordance with the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, breeding dogs of European lineage, most being German but some Belgian, Dutch, Czech and Slovakian are in our pedigrees. All dogs are either imported or bred in the United States by breeders with the same objectives, ethics and complementary bloodlines. Steve LaFlamme and Jacqueline Levy both have years of experience with animals and running businesses. Steve bred Keeshonds, champion Miniature Horses and German Shepherds. Jacqueline is a recovering corporate/government executive with twenty years of success in broadcast media and also a professional pet sitter and wildlife rehab/transporter. Eventually her love for animals and desire to put forth a solid K9 and companion breeding program outstripped her corporate and government career pursuits. Their common interest in and love for animals, especially, German Shepherds has created a well-informed, continuously improving breeding program producing healthy, functional, intelligent companions.
