THANK YOU ❤️ Our supporters always come through and help us to continue our mission of saving dogs from puppy mills and other unfortunate situations in which they have no control. We say this again, but every single dollar raised goes directly to helping dogs!

Pipsqueak was able to be saved from a puppy mill and have a painful eye removed because of your support. He now is very loved in a forever home.

🐾 Want to help dogs like him, but didn’t get a chance to yet today? We would be humbled to have your financial support if you’re able.

A fearful dog…..This pictures tells the story of a life mistreated. A young dog, so afraid of humans, she wants to be invisible. If she can make herself not seen, no one can hurt her.

A dog with hope…..The second picture shows the same dog, after being cared for in one of our foster homes. This is a reflection of the work being done within Puppy Mill Rescue Team every day. Saving dogs, teaching them that life is worth living and helping them flourish with humans that love them as much as we do.

Thank you for your support, and for loving them right along with us. This is us ❤️

At PMRT we are proud of the work we do in caring for neonates. We have a dedicated team of transporters, and foster parents that work around the clock caring for fragile puppies that come to us with cleft palates, hydrocephalus, and a number of other conditions that limit their ability to thrive without intervention. When we get a call of a baby in need our transporters jump into action to deliver that pup to a qualified foster home, sometimes hundreds of miles away. We have a stock of medical supplies, including incubators and oxygen concentrators to give the animals in our care the best chance. Take a look at some of the babes we raised this year, all because of some talented volunteers and a little help from our friends. Thank you Friends.

When rescuing dogs we are often put in delicate situations where we have to keep our head down, and our mouths shut, to get an animal out of a horrendous situation. Such was the case with Jerry. Jerry joined our rescue because he became to big for the "breeder" to sell. He was of no use to the breeder, he could not make money off him, and he was not treated like the sensitive, living creature he was. We knew he was big, and his temperament was questionable. Other rescue groups were not able to assist, and Jerry's fate became tenuous. Fortunately we had a foster that had successfully rehabilitated dogs like Jerry in the past and she said, "Yes" to opening her home to Jerry. When the transporter went to pick Jerry up, she found him tied inside a barn with a 2 foot chain and a piece of twine. The twine was deeply imbedded in his neck. Fortunately he came into our rescue just in time. He received the vet care he needed, and after unpacking his trauma baggage in his foster home, also found the perfect family. Jerry now lives on a farm and has multiple jobs. First he is a livestock guardian, protecting his flock like his breed was always meant to do. At night he also moonlights with his Dad, a dog trainer as a helper dog. Jerry's dad says he is the most dog-neutral dog he has ever met. And that friends, is what rescue is. It is who we are, and what we are able to do it because of your generosity. Thank you for your continued support and belief in PMRT! All of your donations go directly to helping dogs like Jerry 🐾

Puppy Mill Rescue Team functions both as a network of rescues to save dogs from puppy mills, and a foster-based rescue. Our partnership with other rescues and transport volunteers allows us to help many dogs being saved from mills.

Our team of volunteers is small, but mighty. We have less than 200 foster homes across two states. This is a total number, and we never have everyone active at once, volunteers need breaks for their own lives too. Despite our small size, we do everything we can to make a big impact on the lives of as many dogs as we can. We have at least 1 large mill transport per month. This year the record numbers of dogs being released from puppy mills often turned into multiple mill transports per month. We haven’t even kept track of the gas money we’ve spent, but our supporters are always willing to help with gas money for our Freedom Fridays! In the mill runs to date we have helped nearly 500 dogs out of the horrible living situations that are puppy mills!

Although our main mission is to rescue dogs and puppies from puppy mills, we don’t limit our rescuing and fostering to mill survivors only. We have fostered 675 puppies and dogs so far this year, from 1 day old to seniors. As you all know, rescuing doesn’t come without a cost. We often take in the dogs that would otherwise be left for dead, and because of that our vet bills are high. From the common digestive parasites that seems to come with every rescue dog, to life threatening illnesses like parvo, and life-saving surgery, we have and will continue to treat it all. In the first 11 months of this year, we have already spent $312,000 on vetting alone. We are a volunteer run rescue without a facility eating costs, a true non-profit and all of the money raised goes directly to the dogs! We can honestly say that we would not be able to do the volunteer work that we do without supporters and donors like you.

At PMRT we are in the business of dog rescue. As a business we operate incorporating our fundamental beliefs that guide our decision making.

Some of those practices include:
❤️We are 100% volunteer run.
😊We have no paid staff.
🐾We are dog first.

Our decisions are impacted by what is in the best interest of the dog, while also taking in consideration community safety.
Some dogs come to us needing thousands of dollars worth of medical care. Our adoption fees are on average are 475.00, obviously they do not help cover extensive medical costs.
Geoffrey and Natasha's vet care combined cost about $16,000.00. Two dogs, sixteen thousand dollars. Natasha needed heart surgery at Cornell, and Geoffrey required a surgery at Guelph to correct nasopharyngeal stenosis.

Some people wonder why we do it. We do it because supporters like you allow us to provide high level care for dogs in need. You believe they are worth it. We are willing to put in thousands of hours of volunteer work, as long as there are people like you to back us up. That is our plan.

Thank you for your support of PMRT, because of you, dogs like Natasha and Geoffrey are living their best lives.

To see Mac, a gorgeous free-spirited senior Siberian Husky, playing with abandon at the dog park, you would never know he spent his first 9 years living in fear, confined in a puppy mill. It took a village to get Mac from fear to forever. Mac was rescued by Puppy Mill Rescue Team in January 2024. He found security and safety among various members of the team over an 8 month period in temporary foster, long- term boarding, and a long-term foster home. While he was wary of humans, he was gifted when it came to socializing with other dogs. With time, patience and training, Mac began to trust humans and proved to be the most gentlemanly housemate. He had a quiet, relaxed nature much like his namesake, actor Matthew McConaughey.

Despite all of his desirable qualities, Mac was a tough sell to adopters. He was an old dog and not the least bit snuggly. He favored his alone time and spent most of the day sleeping upside down in various corners of the house. Mac lived with his foster family for 3 months, welcoming newly rescued puppy mill dogs and watching as they each moved on to their forever homes. Just when it seemed like Mac’s turn would never come, the perfect adopter reached out specifically seeking a dog-friendly, senior husky, and they preferred if he was aloof! Mac has flourished in his new family. He enjoys running on their land and he still sleeps upside down. The family adores Mac’s quirkiness and independent spirit.

Mac’s journey was long but stories like Mac’s are why we keep saying yes to the tough cases and why we always hold onto hope that there is a forever home for every dog we welcome into the rescue. Your donations help us to continue to support dogs like Mac, who deserve a happy ending to their story. This is why we rescue 🫶🏻

Tomorrow is 🫶🏻
We plan on sharing many stories of the impact your support has enabled us to have on dogs in need (so far) in 2024. We wanted to introduce ourselves as some of the faces behind the work this rescue is able to do…

Please meet Puppy Mill Rescue Team’s Board Members: Meghan, Lisa, Tara, Taylor and Kerry.
Of course, we couldn’t do anything without our amazing network of fosters, support from friends and family, and fur kids of our own that help along the way. We hope you follow our posts tomorrow to share in our success, and donate if you can. ❤️

Every dollar raised goes directly to the dogs 🐾

At PMRT our rescue work takes action in many ways. We foster, we transport, we advocate and we assist the community.
We are grateful for our Lisa Marcera Miracle Fund that allows us to say "yes" when animals are in need. The animals pictured are both recent recipients of the fund, each receiving 250.00 towards their medical needs. What the fund does not cover, PMRT does.
Yesterday we received a call from one of our veterinarians who was advocating for a client. An owner with financial constraints, living on disability wages, cat needed emergency surgery for a life threatening condition- pyometra. Without surgery, the cat would die. We were asked if we could fund the surgery, we couldn't say no. Her surgery is scheduled for this morning and the estimate is 1200.00.
The beagle, now known as Reeves was in a puppy mill. He needed a rescue commitment to secure his freedom, rescues were full, and resources were slim. We offered grant money from the Miracle Fund to help obtain a commitment. The fund would pay for his vetting if a rescue could find a foster. Pets Alive WNY stepped up and Reeves now sleeps on a bed not in a cage.
Lisa loved all animals, and her commitment to help lives on. We are asking for donations to keep the hope alive. Donations from this post will assure the Miracle Fund is there when needed, helping animals the way Lisa always did.

We had a small Freedom Friday last week, leading us to a Medical Monday call for help for one of the passengers 🐾 Introducing Pebbles! He is an 8 week old, 3 pound, adorable, Mini Poodle puppy who recently found his ticket out of a puppy mill through unfortunate circumstances. Pebbles rear right leg has a broken Tibia & Fibula that has already started to calcify and heal. This means it has been broken for over a week already without any medical intervention. The puppy mill likely didn’t notice when it broke because he wasn’t of an age old enough to be sold yet, so he didn’t quite matter 😢 Pebbles went to the vet today for an assessment and to make a plan for the future of his leg. He’s had one set of x-rays, and will be on strict rest for the next month before a follow up set of x-rays to see how things are going. Despite his physical struggles, Pebbles is happy, sweet, and loves attention. Having multiple radiographs for one dog adds up in veterinary costs. Would you help us to help Pebbles?

Today was another Freedom Friday for some lucky puppy mill survivors! Our volunteers drove 820 miles total for the second time in a week to get dogs from puppy mills into their foster homes within our network of rescues. We had a smaller run of 10 dogs today, but to each dog on the van it was a BIG day - the start of the rest of their lives! 💙

The ‘before & after’ is the reason why we do what we do. Take a look at the transformation in these photos… from hopeless and scared at the vet, to hopeful and curious in their foster homes. Finding their forever homes means the best is yet to come! We are running low on Adult Dog food at PMRT…. Will you help us to provide the first quality nutrition they’ve probably ever had? A $5.00 donation towards food would be huge to help fill their bellies with the good stuff.🐾

Your donations will be gratefully accepted via:

… As always, we couldn’t do it without you! ❤️
