As instructors, our primary goal is to guide men, women, and children of all ages to effective and positive horsemanship. In our lessons, we seek to create a peaceful and fun-filled environment in which our students can flourish. To say CHSA finals was a success this year is an understatement. Magnolia Equestrain Center riders you are a force to be reckoned with. You are all competitive, but also kind and supportive and wonderful examples of great horsemanship!! We are all so proud of your successes this year as well as the horse people you are becoming.
🏆 Congratulations Madison Wallwork and Pros Commander, earning 5th place in a large class of 18” Training Hunters as well as 4th in the Quarter Horse Pleasure!
🏅Congratulations Elizabeth Palmer making her first debut at finals and Out With A Bang (Murphy) on their Reserve Champion in the very competitive Walk Trot Equitation as well as 3rd in the Walk Trot Pleasure.
🎖️Congratulations Isabella Wholley also making her debut at her first finals with Tiberon. Earning themselves reserve champion in the Walk Trot 11+ Equitation as well as 3rd in Walk Trot 11+ Pleasure.

It was a busy Friday here at Magnolia! Naomi took Valhalla and Mary Elizabeth to the Baker Charity show for a very successful day, some friends explored the hunt fields, Jenny had Teddy out working on his foot work in our second outdoor, Sarah and Sunny showed off their impeccable style and Michelle and her mare River were the first to test out our brand new round pen! Summer has just begun, we hope you continue to follow us maybe even join in for some of our horse fun!

Meet the Team!

Ben Weidig: Facilities/Equestrian Center Supervisor. He will be responsible for managing the day to day care of the horses and maintenance of the facility. 🐴🛠️

Ben worked at the UConn Equine Units while he was an undergraduate in the Animal Science program and fell in love with it. He then spent two years at Five Oaks Equestrian Center and a year at ABF Equine. He has now been managing Water's Edge Equestrian Center for the last six years.

Ben will be overseeing the general management of the barn while Jenny will continue to orchestrate the day to day care as Assistant Manager. Any questions or concerns can be brought to this team. Welcome, Ben!

What's the point of a steep hill if you don't get to sled on it!?

They say the early bird catches the worm. Well, in this case the incredibly hard working early bird catches the freshly dragged arena! Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to see some of the amazing progress Marilyn has made with some of her horses. A few highlights include changes on a mare who we were told would never have them, beautiful 3' courses on horses who had no canter a year ago, and a soft, supple, and elastic draft who has come farther than anyone could imagine! Marilyn has done so many great things for not only these horses, but many others and their riders! Thank you Marilyn for not only believing in so many, but making it happen! Wonder what it's like to give 100% day in and day out? Ask Naomi, one of our staff members! Today I am so thankful for Naomi. Why? When life throws her lemons, she always makes lemonade - and I LOVE lemonade! But actually, she always finds solutions when thrown last minute curve balls, and for that I say thank you. When it comes to putting in the hard work to improve, Naomi's name is on the top of the list each and every day. Whether it's coming up with new ideas for the farm, figuring out solutions (and making them happen) with the footing, or her newest title, unicorn hunter 🦄, we cannot thank Naomi enough for everything she does! Thank you Naomi for being such an amazing member of our team! Here she is pictured with Socks, a customers horse she is helping Marilyn with!

So often farms forget to post about their unsung heros - the staff. A huge thank you to Ryan who had a great catch last night at night check. It's the little details that save lives! The details and organization Ryan provides day in and day out help keep the farm running smoothly! (Pictured with her favorite lesson pony, Pepito)
