Bloat (GDV) in Dogs – A Life-Threatening Emergency! 🚨🐶

Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV), commonly known as bloat, is a serious and potentially fatal condition that requires immediate emergency care.

Signs of GDV to Watch For:

⚠️ Swollen or hard belly – If your dog’s abdomen looks enlarged or feels tight, don’t ignore it.
⚠️ Unproductive vomiting or retching – Trying to vomit but nothing comes up? This is a major red flag!
⚠️ Restlessness & pacing – Dogs with bloat often appear anxious and uncomfortable.
⚠️ Excessive drooling – Increased saliva production can signal distress.
⚠️ Rapid breathing & increased heart rate – These are signs of shock, which can develop quickly.
⚠️ Weakness or collapse – If your dog becomes lethargic or collapses, get to a vet immediately!

Some large, deep-chested breeds like Great Danes, German Shepherds, and Dobermans are at higher risk, but any dog can develop bloat. If your dog shows any signs, don’t wait—act fast to save their life!

Did you know dogs and cats have a third eyelid? It’s called the nictitating membrane, and it helps protect the eye and keep it moist.

But if you ever see it sticking out or covering part of the eye, it could signal an infection, injury, or cherry eye. If you notice changes in your pet’s eyes, it’s time for a vet visit!

🚨URGENT NOTICE TO ALL PET PARENTS 🚨

We are excited to announce our revolutionary new diagnostic service: Pet-to-English Translation!
Our veterinary team has spent years developing specialized equipment that can finally interpret what your pets are saying. No more guessing why your cat is meowing at 3 AM or why your dog is giving you that look!
How it works:

Simply bring your pet in for a quick, non-invasive 5-minute scan
Our proprietary AI-powered "Bark-to-Talk" or "Meow-to-Message" software translates their vocalizations
You'll receive a complete transcript of your pet's thoughts and feelings

Early testing has revealed some fascinating insights:

Most cats are not plotting world domination (only 87%)
Dogs actually do forget you left when you go to work (for approximately 7 seconds)
Hamsters have surprisingly complex opinions about wheel ergonomics

SPECIAL APRIL LAUNCH PRICING:
$99.99 for dogs and cats
$79.99 for smaller pets (hamsters, birds, etc.)
$199.99 for pets who speak multiple languages
Book now as appointment slots are filling quickly! Service available today only - April 1st, 2025
P.S. Happy April Fools' Day! While we can't actually translate your pet's thoughts, we CAN provide expert emergency care 24/7/365. That's no joke!

Registration opens tomorrow for service, police, millitary and border patrol dogs! Thank you to Dr. Sarah Hoy for participating in this wonderful program!

ACVO®-SAVES: More than 260 boarded veterinary ophthalmologists have already pre-registered to participate in the 2025 ACVO/Epicur Service Animal Volunteer Eye Screening program. This year's locations have been updated on our website, but a few more may be added over the weekend. Be sure to see if there is a city near you providing free screening eye exams and help us screen thousands of Service Animals this year in May!

Happy clients Chloe and Bella are diabetic alert dogs who participated in last year's program. They give thanks to our generous ACVO Diplomates and their amazing staff, and our fantastic Namesake Sponsor, Epicur Pharma.

Registration opens April 1st. https://www.acvoeyeexam.org/participating-cities
