It’s a very boring video but one of my favorite things to do with any horse prone to overthinking like sweet Solo. I’ve found that extended periods of walking on the lunge line, especially aided with a neck stretcher like I have here, can do wonders for teaching a horse to slow down their brain and focus in on you. Solo struggles with making himself worry because he wants to always do the right thing, and you can see the wheels turning here from start to end! As he stretched down his steps got bigger and slower, he quieted down in the bridle, and he zones in on me versus what’s going on around him. Had he been trotting his brain would be all over the place, he’d be bouncing off the circle and his head would be in the air. He gains confidence from having to be pushed out of his comfort zone and made to slow everything down!
Solo got thrown into the deep end today without his arm floaties and still came out a super star 🤩 at just 3 years old he’s already so level headed and willing, and came away with a 3rd place ribbon in his first combined test! The dressage judge told him he was “very brave in water despite his trepidation today” which I think sums up the day rather well 🤣
Nicole and Oliver
I am constantly so impressed with this girl and all her hard work! Oliver is NOT an easy horse and she gets through his worst days with a smile on her face 🙌 anyone who has spent any length of time around me has heard me bragging about how amazing Nicole is!
Who knew this beast of a cross country machine was hiding in such a quiet little horse’s body!
Filou
Took Filou cross country schooling for the first time today and discovered that he’s a total beast 💪🤩 he cantered up to this drop into the water so boldly that I wasn’t sure he saw it which is why I was pulling so hard 🤣
Filou playing in the hunter ring for the first time today! This boy will make someone who wants to do a bit of everything very happy!
The new kid Filou had a fantastic debut at WEC this week! We eased him into the chaos by doing two days of the .85 and he laid down beautiful trips both times 🙌 I’m still getting to know him but boy he is fun and easy- my two favorite things in a horse 🤩
An eventer and a show jumper go to the hunter ring… and have no idea what’s going on 🤷♀️
Not too shabby for Calypso’s first time seeing hunter fences! Super happy with this boy and ready for him to hit the market!
This is exactly what I want from a young horse on their first excursion. Barely 3 years old and Toothless got off the trailer after standing for hours relaxed and happy and trotted around the ring like it was just another day. I don’t care that he touched poles or didn’t actually “jump” because this is how he’s going to be set up to be an amateur’s dream one day!

Liam set a new standard for what it takes to be considered a good horse in my barn: eating your allergy pills out of my hand like candy 😂 yes he does this every day without hesitation 🤷♀️
