BOOMER!

Boomer is a big boy with lots of love to give. He is 6 years old and 125 pounds. He has no idea how big he is so his size might be an issue with small children. He is playful, funny, and affectionate. He is a strong boy as you would imagine being 125 pounds, he needs a family that will be able to handle him and continue to work on his leash skills and manners. He is very smart and eager to please, he reacts well to being corrected on leash etc. He is potty trained. He likes playing with toys, but loves getting affection from humans more. He has been described as the black version of Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Boomer is more of a country boy, he would like a home that is on the quieter side without a ton of people coming and going.

Oreo is extremely gentle and very loving towards people as well as other dogs. She is a lover and very submissive. She is not shy and wants to be everyone’s friend. Myra is 5 years old and came to us with her sister Reba when their owner passed away. Myra is a loveable couch potato that is ready to find her forever home. She is good with cats but gets a little cranky if another dog gets in her space with regards to her toys and food. We think she would do best as an only dog. Myra doesn't want to live with small children, the fast movements make her uncomfortable. Kids 10 and up would likely be fine.

Sally is a longtime resident with one of our partners. Can you help us find her a forever home? She is great with people of all ages, loves attention, water, walks, and car rides. Winter is 4 years old and one of our volunteers took her out for the day. This is what she had to say. Winter is one of the best, happiest, easiest dogs I have ever met! She met with a wiggly body and kisses. She is 4 years old. It only took one trip in the truck to convince her she loves to ride and now gets in willingly and sits nicely in the back. She is - by far- the best leash walker I've ever known. She doesn't pull at all! We saw dogs (and deer) and while we didn't get close, she noticed them calmly and didn't react. I took along treats for our walk and when she looked at me, she got one. She is bright and learns quickly. She saw a birthday party and bouncy castle. She wagged her tail when looking at the people at the party. We stopped at a fire station. She loved the firemen and even though there were strange sounds there, she enjoyed exploring. When we stopped at Starbucks, she wagged her tail at the person serving us. Winter is a joyful dog and likely will bond deeply with her person. She's willing to try new things but she is cautious. A sensitive person to offer her an active life and safety is a must. Honestly, if I were looking for a dog to adopt, I would adopt Winter in a heartbeat. Being four years old, she's over the teenage years and is simply a joy to be around.
