Meet Amber – The Gentle Beauty Looking for Her Forever Home!

Amber’s journey hasn’t been easy. This lovely 3-year-old Shepherd/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix was one of 90 dogs left in need when an animal rescue fell on hard times. Fortunately, Amber found her way to Milo Sanctuary, and now she’s ready to find her forever family.

With her calm demeanor and sweet disposition, Amber has quickly become a favorite here. She’s gentle, friendly with staff, and absolutely loves interacting with people. While she’s a bit shy at first, Amber warms up quickly and will lean in for affection once she feels safe.

Hello friends, another day, another tree down!!
As we wind up this year, we realize we can really use another good chainsaw! And though we absolutely appreciate environmental awareness and care, given the terrain and scope of our sanctuary, we really would like to have another dependable gas powered chainsaw!!! Under 20” blade preffered… we’re not too picky but some of us are more comfortable with a 16” blade!
If you are going green, please pass your old workhorse saw our way, or consider a gift to Milo Sanctuary, we do need to cut trees fairly often and this next few months there will no doubt be quite a few!

When a high school student from Pacifica had volunteer hours to complete for school, she chose to come to the Milo Sanctuary and her parents were game!
They drove up on Sunday, walked dogs, cuddled puppies, visited the cats and fell in love with Pirate the neck scarf cat! (He sprays which is why he lives here!!)
We love and welcome volunteers at the Sanctuary and hope in the Spring to have solid staffing (we’re hiring!) and projects galore for volunteers and camping on our 330 dog friendly acres! There’s literally trail blazing paths to hike and so much to explore!

Welcome Mario!! He’s one hungry fellow!! Chowing down, both wet and dry, he’s been outdoors homeless for some time in the hills outside Willits. Thank you to Elaine for bringing him to meet me at JD REDHOUSE, where I got to have lunch and pick up some supplies as well. But the reason for the trip to town was to rescue this fine fellow. He’ll go down to our Adoption Center and get neutered on 12/12, then be ready for a HOME! Fine fellow.

The Milo Sanctuary is a great place to volunteer and walk dogs! Some of our dogs need particular skilled handlers, however LOTS are terrific either in off leash group walks or single on leash, or paired if there are 2 people!! We also have smaller dogs and puppies to socialize…. And kitties (mostly shy.)

Minnie! She needs a home. She is a character like no other! Minnie is a super smart 7 year old who needs an experienced dog owner. Minnie is full of personality and looking for fun. Minnie loves to swim and go for hikes. She also loves going for a ride anywhere and everywhere. She is good on a leash. She does have a tendency to snap at you if she suspects you want her to do something she doesn’t think she wants to do. But once she knows you she wants to please and snuggle. She needs a secure yard and a patient person. She has been at the Milo Sanctuary for over 3 years. She is so ready to find a home.
