πŸΎβ„οΈ Keep Your Furry Friends Safe in the Cold! β„οΈπŸΎ
As the temperatures drop tonight , it's crucial to remember our pets! They rely on us to stay warm and safe during the winter months.
Here are a few essential tips:
* Shelter is Key: Make sure your outdoor pets (if applicable) have a dry, draft-free, and appropriately insulated shelter. Blankets and straw can help keep them warm!
* Limit Time Outdoors: For most pets, especially short-haired or older animals, keep outdoor walks and potty breaks brief to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
* Watch Out for Antifreeze: It's highly toxic but sweet-tasting. Clean up spills immediately and store it securely.
* Check Their Paws: Salt and ice can irritate or injure paw pads. Wipe their paws after walks and consider using pet booties.
* Monitor Water: Keep an eye on those water bowls! πŸ₯Ά If you have outdoor pets, FROZEN WATER BOWLS are a serious risk for dehydration. Check and change their water frequently or consider using heated bowls to ensure they always have access to fresh, unfrozen water.
Let's all work together to have a safe and cozy winter with our beloved animals! ❀️🐢🐱

🏈 Found on the Football Field! 🐾 We Have Two New Mascots!
🚨 LOST DOG ALERT from Willow Springs Animal Control! 🚨
These two adorable hooligans decided to try out for the team this morning and were found practicing their touchdowns and zoomies on the Willow Springs practice football field! They seem convinced they've won the MVP award, but we're pretty sure they belong to someone else! πŸ˜‚
Meet the Players:
* "Patches" (White & Tan/Spotted): This distinguished athlete has white fur with handsome tan/brown patches on his ears and head. He has a serious game face and looks ready for his close-up! He appears to be a mixed breed, possibly Boxer/Bulldog mix, and is very sweet but clearly misses his coach (owner)!
* "The Rookie" (Tan & Black Shepherd-Mix): This younger fella has classic shepherd-style markingsβ€”tan and black with big, expressive brown eyes and floppy puppy ears! He's currently wearing a blue collar. He's mastering the "puppy dog eyes" defense strategy.
They are safe and sound at the Willow Springs Animal Shelter now, but we'd love to get them back to their loving home before they start demanding Gatorade and signing autographs! ✍️
If these are your dogs, or if you know who they belong to, please contact Willow Springs Animal Control immediately!

🐾 Keep Your Pets Warm and Safe This Winter! πŸ₯Ά
As the temperatures drop in Willow Springs, your friends at Willow Springs Animal Control want to remind every pet owner that cold weather is a serious threat to your furry family members. They depend on you to keep them protected!
Important Pet Cold Weather Safety Tips:
* Bring Them Inside! 🏠 This is the single most important thing you can do. Dogs and cats, especially short-haired, young, old, or sick pets, should NOT be left outdoors for extended periods when the temperature is below freezing.
* Provide Proper Shelter. πŸ• If your dog must stay outside, they need a dry, draft-free, appropriately sized house with an entrance covered by a flap and warm bedding (like straw, not blankets, which can get wet and freeze). The house should be raised off the cold ground.
* Check Their Water. πŸ’§ Pets need continuous access to fresh, unfrozen water. Use plastic bowls or heated water bowls to prevent their tongues from sticking to metal.
* Mind the Antifreeze. ⚠️ Antifreeze is highly poisonous but tastes sweet to pets. Even a small amount can be fatal. Clean up spills immediately and store products safely away from pets.
* Protect Their Paws. 🐾 Salt and chemicals used to melt snow and ice can irritate and burn paw pads. Wipe your pet’s paws with a damp towel after every walk.
* Make Some Noise! 🐈 Before starting your car, knock loudly on the hood. Stray or outdoor cats often seek warmth near or under a vehicle engine and can be seriously injured or killed by the fan belt.
Remember, if it's too cold for you, it's definitely too cold for your pet! Willow Springs Ordinance requires adequate shelter for all pets.
If you see a pet in distress due to the cold, please contact Willow Springs Animal Control immediately. Let's work together to ensure all our community's pets stay warm and healthy this season!

🚨 LAST MINUTE REMINDER, WILLOW SPRINGS TRUNK OR TREATERS! 🚫🐢
Get ready for candy and Lions Club hayrides tonight on Main Street! Just a super important heads-up before you load up the car:
LEAVE. THE. DOGS. AT. HOME.
We know your furry co-pilot in the passenger seat is already wearing his adorable "Werewolf of Willow Springs" collar, but for the safety of all the trick-or-treaters (and the hayride workers who are easily spooked by tiny costumed poodles), your pup needs to stay on porch duty tonight.
Think of it this way: Nobody wants to clean up dog droppings near the Snickers pile. πŸ’© And definitely not near the hayride line! 🌾
πŸ“ The Official Legal Tangle (It’s City Law!):
This rule is set by the City to keep large public events safe for everyone:
> City of Willow Springs Municipal Ordinance, Chapter 205, Section 205.335 specifically prohibits: "No person shall bring or maintain possession or control of any dog or canine to any City sponsored or sanctioned public gathering..."
>
(A quick note: This rule does not apply to Service Animals, who are always welcome.)
Come on down to Main Street for Trunk or Treat tonight! Enjoy the candy, the hayrides, and the absence of any overly enthusiastic pups trying to "help" with the treat distribution. πŸ˜‰
See you soon! πŸš—πŸ¬

Update: This dog's owner has been located, and she will be going home tomorrow 10/4/25! Thank you for sharing!

*FOUND. SHARE SHARE SHARE!*

This German Shepherd was found on a county road in the Willow Springs/Cabool area. The individuals who found her brought her to Mountain Grove and turned her loose on their way back to Springfield.
Luckily our amazing police officers were able to catch her and now we need to get her back home!

This dog is definitely missed by someone. She is potty trained, has been treated for fleas/ticks, and is very well kept. Please share to every Willow Springs/Cabool group you can so we can get her back to her owners!

Please help spread the word!

If you know who this dog belongs to please call Animal Control at 417-259-9180.
