All those people in the back! This sport takes a village! I’m always humbled by the support of friends and sometimes strangers (who quickly become friends) that rush to help these kiddos out! They are rooting for your kids just as hard as their own! They want to see these kids succeed and this sport thrive! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 thanks to all those people in the back! (And to all the other rodeo mamas and papas busting theirs to give these kids every opportunity to chase their dreams!)

The kids have been hard at work today harvesting lavender to put into bunches to open a little pop up stand today! The lavender really smells heavenly and can be dried or used fresh! 3$ a bunch or 4 for 10$. They are all set up!

I feel like she needed her own square! It’s such a vibrant green I just love it! Milky Oat top tincture is full of vitamins and minerals and is known for its ability to ease anxiety, exhaustion, and stress! It’s incredibly restorative and calming. This should be ready in a few more weeks!

I love a good throw blanket that can travel! These wool blend throws are definitely a labor of love to make (all 4 sides are fringed!) but they make the best blanket to throw in the truck for rodeos, softball games, picnics, or camping trips! The weather was chilly in Reno this weekend! Glad we had our (and lots of other warm gear!) for the finals! As always we had a great time! When I count my blessings I make sure to count the women surrounding me in this picture! I am so lucky that when I got married I got to join these handy, tough, and kind couple of gals and call them .

Something that I really wanted to focus on this year was planting- growing- and harvesting- a more medicinal garden. It has a long way to go compared to many wild and beautiful medicinal gardens I’ve seen, but I feel like it’s improving! I have more dried herbs and flowers ready to go for tea than ever before. Goal for the winter months is to work on a few tinctures and salves.

There is something about chairs and bowls….it’s this invitation to sit down or the image of a beautiful meal that I can’t seem to pass up! I collect chairs and bowls because they make me happy. There is something about an old rocking chair that has held weathered souls and brand new life. Beautiful giant bowls filled with rising bread dough waiting to be cooked and served to family and friends. I don’t know if I collect things so much as the memories that go with them.

It is officially cowl season! This year I am working on a new website where you will be able to purchase all my home sewn cowls, jackets and blankets! The standard size (pictured here) will be called “the Gauge” and each style/pattern will also have a name! The one pictured here will be labeled … “The Gauge…Blue Mountain”. Hopefully this will help keep everything organized and make it easier for you to purchase these items! Let me know what you think! I’m will still be very happy to answer any questions via messenger or by phone.

Really proud hippie Mom moment! Kade has the sniffles after a long rodeo weekend, so his big sister just made him tea from our dried herbs… she picked Bee Balm (used for treating respiratory congestion) , Chamomile (anti-fever and anti-inflammatory) and Rose (tightening and cooling which is great for inflamed sinuses)…and honey…(because otherwise “Kade wasn’t going to drink it 😂”) I am so proud of her…guess she has been paying attention to her crazy mamas herbal lectures!

Thankful. Thankful for all the good and thankful for the struggle. Thankful for dirty boots and the feet that fill them. Thankful for the chaos…I know someday it will be too quiet. Thankful for the memories. Thankful for the cooler weather and hot coffee. Thankful for the pumpkin spice candle and early morning phone calls. Thankful for the hours consumed with care…for days outside and pomegranate martinis. Thankful for the sound of speckledbelly geese returning to the valley. Tired….but thankful.

If I could give everyone a May dog…the world would be a much happier place. She is joy in a short legged, looong bodied German shepherd body! She is as happy running full tilt outside or sitting next to perfectly still to be pet for hours. She lives for her people…but will likely eat your face off if you look at her kids wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

5 years in the making! Finally the first cherry harvest is here from our little fruit orchard. The fruit orchard has been so wonderful and I am so thankful for it! I can’t wait for cherry pie!
