Several weeks of focusing on other horses and not much riding for us. Legging back up to run through the fall and get ready to rodeo next year. Thanks for making it fun and easy Lula 🫶🏼
Comanche’s warm up today!
A little background on Comanche:
He’s a 9 year old gelding who was a bottle baby. His owner did a great job teaching him to not be a total spoiled terror, but he is a little pushier and more unwillingly than other horses can be. He pulls against the bit a lot and throws fits when he isn’t getting his way. He has bucked and reared some. His owner would like a quiet trail horse that will willingly w/t/l that she doesn’t have to fight with.
Some things we’re accomplishing by driving him this way:
-Giving him less ways to quit me since the drive lines offer me a way to move his body
-Softens face and body
-Teaches driving up into the bridle and maintaining forward motion
-Builds muscle so that he can physically do what I’m asking under saddle
-Starts building a soft, correct stop and back up (notice I wasn’t happy with the first one so I sent him off one more time and got a good one the second time)
All of this creates a good foundation of skills for the horse to use under saddle and cuts the time spent “adding buttons” under saddle down by a lot!
🗣 SOUND 🗣 ON 🗣 Tell me this horse isn’t the coolest! Guapo is one of a kind ❤️🔥
🌟 SEASONING COLTS 🌟Lula’s first time going a little faster and at an actual jackpot. I really expected her to fall apart but she stayed really honest. We’ll be adjusting our approach to first, riding lots of squares and over finishing the barrel at second and third. This is her third week on the barrels and probably right at 90-100 days of riding.
4 year old Dashin Dynamo filly with about 10 times ever seeing the barrel pattern. First time loping. She is a personal horse but was raised and started right here with me.
Remember Red? Here he is again in his home- doing great! We can’t wait to see them at their first playday this weekend!
3 year old crossbred gelding available!
3 year old crossbred gelding available!
Here’s our 2 year old with 5 rides!
He is available until Friday before we take him off the market and make a horse of him!
We love seeing horses being loved in their new homes! Red went to his new home yesterday and is settling in great 🫶🏼
Donkeys!

Xavier- Yearling MFTX
Doing big boy things! (No, he is not lame. He’s gaited 🫣)
Fancy- 11 year old mare
What more could you really want from a horse that’s been turned out over a year?
A little bit of “the process”
The head bobbing is her testing and giving, testing and giving, little bits at a time. Figuring out exactly where she needs to be. Notice her head gets lower and lower and neck gets less tense. You’ll see the shanks become parallel with her mouth when she finally gives and the reins are completely slack. That’s total relief that she’s giving herself without me having to pull on her!
Typically you would do this with a snaffle but for some horses that are needing a tune up and have been out of work, I’ll use this short shank bit so that the pressure AND RELEASE is exaggerated- making my point clearer. Then I will back down to a snaffle to continue tuning and move up from there if they are going to more bridle later.
🌟KIDS PLAYDAY DREAM HORSE🌟
🎄🎁 Perfect Christmas Horse 🎁🎄
Meet Blondie
15 years old
15 hands and stout
Blondie is super broke and super sweet. She is safe for absolutely anybody to ride and handle. She was said to be started a reiner and has been used in playdays. The kid riding her in the video is a very timid beginner rider. He usually REFUSES to get on anything but he loves Blondie. Blondie catches her leads and maintains them. I was riding in Hey Dudes and she picked up the lope with minimal effort on my part. This is not one that your kids are going to have to whip and spur to move but she is also not going to go faster than they are asking. She is one hand broke and you can neck rein her around the barrels or pull her around. She would probably switch leads a lot smoother if I wasn’t in my tennirunners. Blondie gets along in the herd and has been stalled. She’s happy either way. She has good solid barefeet and is a fat easy keeper.
What’s the catch? Blondie has an old hamstring injury that I am happy to point out to anybody interested. It’s an old scar and does NOT cause her pain. She does not get sore after riding and does not favor it under saddle. She just lacks full range of motion in her hind left leg which sometimes looks like a short step. PPEs welcome.
Please hurry before my kid gets serious about keeping her 😅
