If you subject a nervous dog to lots of other dogs you are going to flood them.

If you put a Coulrophobic child in a tent full of clowns, or an Arachnophobic man in a room full of spiders, (or me, in a field of cows) it will not make any of us less scared. It will however result in major mental health, and trust issues.

If you expose a dog reactive dog to other dogs in close proximity for them to "get used to other dogs" it will probably result in a lifetime of fear, anxiety and aggression issues as well as completely damaging your relationship.

It may well appear to fix the the problem, but a flooded dog can't cope, so will shut down and go numb to the environment because they know that they cannot get away.
This method does not change the emotional response to the trigger. It actually increases the anxiety and fear therefore increasing the reactivity leading to a higher bite risk.
The stress of being in a scary situation builds up, but it very rarely shows whilst the dog is being flooded. It may be days or weeks after.
People really do not understand the ramifications of flooding.

If your dog asks for help LISTEN and help them to GET AWAY from what is causing their fear.
