🚨 We are very excited to announce that we will be one of the sponsors at this years Brandywine Festival of the Arts! The festival is held every year in Wilmington, Delaware and features hundreds of juried artists exhibiting one-of-a-kind art.

The BFA has something for everyone: with hundreds of artists exhibiting in a wide range of styles and mediums, live music performances, children’s activities, and a selection of local food vendors including beer and wine. The festival is a Delaware tradition spanning over half a century so we are beyond honored to be participating this year.

Come stop by our booth and say hi to Sasha and myself! We will be there to demonstrate some training as well as to answer any dog related questions you may have!

When: September 7th (10am-6pm) & September 8th (10am-4pm)
Where: Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware

“Having a well-trained dog is not easy… if it were easy, everyone would have one!” - William Shakespeare, probably

📌 Training a dog is very similar to getting in shape. If you go to the gym just “here and there” you’re not going to see any real progress. It has to become a lifestyle. You have to eat healthy… you have be consistent with your workouts… you have to allow your body to recover… There’s a lot that goes into improving your physical & mental health.

The same premise applies to training your dog. You can’t just train your dog “here and there” and expect to see results. In order to see the changes you are looking for, it must become a lifestyle.

You have to develop a clear communication system… you must provide enrichment, engagement, and exercise… you must establish expectations & boundaries (and consistently hold your dog to them!)… and most importantly, you must show your dog what is rewarding and what is NOT rewarding. And you can’t just do it “when you feel like it.” ✨

🚨10,000 follower giveaway! 👇

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH 🫶🥹

Our doors opened for business about a year and a half ago and we inconsistently posted on our socials for almost a full year. Needless to say, we saw very little traction. Thankfully, around 3 months ago, we decided to start taking content creation more seriously. We carved out the time to brainstorm ideas, film, edit, write thoughtful captions… and we managed to put out one quality post each day (depending on who you ask 😂). And in those last 3 months… we have gone from a little under three thousand followers to ten thousand and counting. We don’t say this to brag or to gloat in any kind of way… we say this to highlight the importance of staying committed to your goal DAY AFTER DAY. People who go to the gym understand this type of dedication. You don’t go to the gym here and there and see results. You don’t post on Instagram here and there and see results. You don’t train your dog “here and there” and see results…

✨ 100,000 incoming! 🚀🚀🚀

📌 If you’ve made it this far… like this post, drop a comment, and follow to be entered into our giveaway!

✨ Please Don’t Go ✨

I first got Stella back in 2014. My OCD had gotten so bad that I had to medically withdraw from college for a semester (ended up being two). I remember not wanting to get out of bed because every time that I did, my obsessive thoughts would send me spiraling into one of my OCD loops. 🔁

But staying in bed was not the solution to my problems…

I started exercising, I started eating better, I started seeing a therapist to better understand/control my thoughts… I also made my way down to a rescue in Denver (I lived in Colorado at the time) and adopted this cute little rez dog.

That day marked a significant turning point in my life… That cute little pup gave me something to do every day. I’d wake up and take her out potty. We’d then play for a little bit. I would then feed her. Then I’d take her out potty again. Then we’d relax together. Then we’d go for a walk together. Then we’d play together again… it was a beautiful relationship. She required structure and routine and that was exactly what I needed. We bonded and grew stronger together. She truly pulled me out of one of the darkest times of my life…🌟

Fast forward to 2022; I was now a professional dog trainer working for a well-known dog training franchise. I was visiting Mike Suttle down at LHK for a puppy development seminar and ended up going home with my second dog, a KNPV Dutch Shepherd that I would later name Sasha.

Sasha offered me a unique perspective, distinct from what Stella provided. As a working dog with extraordinary drives and needs, Sasha sparked the fire in me to explore dog training in it’s deepest depths. I read every book I could find; I attended every seminar possible; I purchased more online courses than you could ever imagine. Sasha began to develop into truly an amazing dog.

Fast forward to current day; I launched my own business, and we’ve thrived for over a full year since opening our doors. Sasha has been a tremendous asset to the team. She is an incredibly talented dog with an amazing personality. I would not be where I am today without her.

So while Sasha gets to experience what Stella once did, we let Stella enjoy retirement. 🏖️

This weekend I had the privilege of attending a and Dr. Stewart Hilliard workshop in Northwest Arkansas. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this duo. On top of having an incredible amount of insight and knowledge on dog training, they both are incredibly genuine human beings. If you ever have the chance to talk dogs with either of them, don’t skip out on that opportunity. They are behind some of the most pioneering work happening in the industry at the moment. You definitely don’t want to miss out on what they’re bringing to the table. 🧩

Shoutout to and for contributing your insights as well!

And special thanks to for organizing and hosting the event!

❄️ Winter 🤝 Nosework 👃🎯

As temperatures drop and winter takes hold, it gets harder and harder to get outside with our dogs. We do what we can to fulfill their physical/mental exercise needs but many fail to truly satisfy their dog during these cold Winter months. ❄️

This is where Nosework comes into play.👃

What is “Nosework” you may ask?

⬇️⬇️⬇️

Nosework is a dog sport in which dogs use their keen sense of smell to locate and indicate the presence of specific odors (usually essential oils) hidden in various environments. This sport is designed to mimic the work of professional detection dogs, such as search and rescue dogs or drug-sniffing dogs, and it's a fun and mentally stimulating activity for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Dogs learn to search for and alert their handlers to the location of the hidden scent source.

Nosework is a very constructive way to engage a dog’s natural instants. Along with providing your dog with mental and mild physical exercise, it also is a great way to build their confidence and strengthen your bond. It’s fun, stimulating, and rewarding for both the dog and the handler!

Not only is Nosework beneficial to both you and your dog, it is an activity that can be done from the comfort of your own home! 🏡

Nosework certainly doesn’t replace getting outside with your dog and letting them run around and stretch their legs, but it can be a productive activity that you do with your dog to help get them through this time of year.

In the photos above you’ll find a new set of scent tubes that I built over this past weekend.

We use these (as well as the OdorPays box™️ by ) to imprint our dogs on a target odor. We can also utilize this set of scent tubes to work on early stages of scent discrimination.

☀️ This weekend, let’s make a promise to our furry friends - to put down our phones, embrace the present, and engage with them wholeheartedly. In those moments of connection, it does much more than just provide us companionship. It strengthens our bond and checks off a very important box when it comes to having a happy and healthy relationship with your dog.

🌟 Whether it's through a gentle belly rub, a playful game of fetch, or simply sharing a quiet moment of connection, make sure you give your dog the attention it deserves.

Happy Training 🤙
