Thank you for all you do Dr. Williams! 🐾💙

We are honored to have been well represented at this year's 2024 Arthrex’s Medical Education Program. ECVR’s very own Dr. Ned Williams was asked to share his expertise in the Arthroscopy Health Care Courses.

Dr. Williams is a Diplomate of both, American College of Veterinary Surgeons and Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation. His 20+ years of experience is sought out nationally for his cutting-edge practices, up-to-date research, and individualized treatment programs he provides to every patient at ECVR.

We were thrilled to be a part of advancing the next generation of top surgeons with Dr. William's guidance.

For any of our clients that have been fortunate enough to have Dr. Williams as the surgeon for your pet, you understand just how talented this man is. Well done Dr. Williams!

Welcome Dr. Orner! 💗

Welcome Dr. Orner! 💗

We are growing! ECVR is pleased to announce that Dr. Natalie Orner has joined the team. Dr. Orner, a Board-Certified Theriogenologist, is a key addition to ECVR.

As pet owners, we understand the responsibility that goes into being an owner. We also understand that breeding animals responsibly is important to ensure that offspring and pets are safe and healthy. Our intent is to be a responsible resource for clients to support the health and well-being of the animals involved in breeding.

We're excited to improve programs and to most importantly educate pet owners on the safest practices. ECVR is excited to strive to the highest standard in reproductive care.

We appreciate every single one of you so much!

We appreciate every single one of you so much!

ECVR wants to send a big thank you to ‘Gooses owner’ for helping us pack our truck while waiting on their beloved pet in our lobby. We weren’t expecting all the donations that poured into our hospital or the support to pack it back out for Helene relief. Thank you everyone!

The next load was successfully packed and sent with our skilled driving team. Another 5,000 lbs of much needed supplies delivered. ECVR is grateful for our community and clients like you.

Please note, if you’d still like to donate with us, we’re making it a point to get every donation to western North Carolina! We are proactively and tentatively planning another load for our trailer to be hauled. Day or night, please drop off at our 24/7 trauma hospital location.

We still need your help for our fellow North Carolinians!! Anything that you can donate would be greatly appreciated!

Western NC still needs your help!

Wilmington, we need your help to fill the horse trailer! Last week we successfully hauled 6000 pounds of dog and cat food to western NC and this week, we have access to a horse trailer that will be headed to Asheville.

While we are still collecting pet food and supplies, we are hearing the call for human supplies that are desperately needed. Here is a list of supplies of what is needed.
* Camp Stoves, for cooking
* Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.
* Wet Wipes
* Feminine Hygiene Products
* Blankets
* Air Mattresses
* Tents
* First Aid Supplies: Band-Aids, Antibiotic Ointments, OTC Ibuprofen, etc.
* Diapers
* Tents

Approach this with what would you need the most if you were displaced and without the things that you have in your home.

The trailer will be loaded Tuesday evening and head out on Wednesday. We will need your donations by the end of day Tuesday.

Thanks again to all of you who have already donated. We appreciate the direct impact that you have made.

ECVR Cares! We loaded the truck up yesterday and we delivered supplies to Hickory this morning. We came back this evening to our lobby already filled with additional pet supplies.

Obviously our friends are still wanting to help, so, let’s do this again! We will take additional donations through the weekend and will bring them out next Wednesday!

We heard heartbreaking stories and hear that personal items like wet wipes, sleeping bags, lighter fluid, small grills, tents, etc are needed. We have limited storage and may need some assistance with storage and transportation to Hickory.

Come join us this Saturday at Wrightsville Beach Park for Bark in the Park! You’ll see some amazing canine athletes! We ...

Please help our fellow North Carolinians and their fur babies in the west of our state while they struggle after the storm. So many dogs and cats have been found and they need food, beds, treats, food bowls, blankets, toys, water… We appreciate all donations! Thank you so much to those that have already donated!! 💙🐾 Any donations can be dropped off at the hospital, 50 Greenville Ave. Wilmington NC.

We need your help! Let's fill the U-Haul and send some supplies and love to Asheville!

In SE North Carolina we know a little something about weather events and the destructive power of flooding. While we are still recovering from our own flooding event a couple weeks ago, Helene hit and NC was impacted again. This time Asheville was hit and now find themselves isolated due to roads in or out of town being closed and/or washed away. There is a current travel ban unless by emergency personnel, causing additional isolation and lack of access to basic resources.

ECVR is setting up a pet food/water/bedding supply drive this week. Our team will be collecting items at our hospital at 50 Greenville Ave with a goal to fill a uhaul full of supplies to be delivered to pet owners in Western NC.

We are asking for your help by bringing pet food, water and supplies to ECVR for collection. We plan on trailering these supplies to Western NC by the end of this week.

Today is a very special day! Our baby boy Sea Biscuit is now a year old! 💙🐾 Biscuit came to us as a swimmers pup at 5 weeks old! He couldn’t walk at all and was splayed in his front and rear legs. He’s overcome that obstacle but continues rehab three times a week for bilateral elbow and hip dysplasia. The whole staff loves you Sea Biscuit and we wish you the happiest of birthdays! 🥳

We have other ways to help our patients with pain management other than (or in conjunction with) pain medication. TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) is one of the many treatments we use. It's a pain relief therapy that uses a mild electrical current to activate peripheral nerves.
Huey is recovering from spinal surgery and he absolutely loves his TENS treatments after working hard for his rehab sessions. It relaxes him so much and he always falls asleep during the treatment.💙🐾

CANINE SPORTS MEDICINE

Our rehabilitation mission is to enhance and maintain the quality of life for your four-legged family member. Your treatment team consists of the referring veterinarian, the therapist, assistants and you, the pet owner. The care of your pet is under the overall guidance of Dr. Ned Williams, D.V.M., Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons and Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and under the direct supervision of Stacie Williams OTR/L, CHT, CCRP (certified canine rehabilitation practitioner). Trained technical staff will assist in carrying out the plan of care as well as the care of your pet throughout the day. Stacie has been a therapist in the human field for almost 20 years. She has been treating the canine/feline population for over 10 years and is the most experienced rehabilitation practitioner in the Eastern Carolina region.

EXPECTATIONS

We will provide a weekly update with instructions for home therapy. Our expectation of the pet owners who choose to enter the program is that they will agree to follow through with the individual home exercise program in order to facilitate the best possible outcome from therapy. This is most important for the primary individual involved, your pet. We offer:

  • Underwater treadmill and aquatic therapy
  • Nearby pet stores & pet services
