Beekeeping doesn't always go as planned. The swarm we caught with the help of Johnny Dickerson on Easter weekend was a strong and busy hive.

They settled in quickly to their new hive This is what we found inspecting the next weekend.

Lesson - make sure you put the correct number of frames in the box if you want to be able to easily inspect the hive😂😂😂

When bees sense danger, they release an alarm pheromone called isopentyl acetate from a gland near their stingers. This chemical wafts through the air and alerts other bees to be ready to attack.
