I am with Volunteer Pet Recovery Group.
I need sightings in the area of Rt 101 east to Billings Road. Farmers and residents in the area: please look in buildings, and tree lines.

UPDATE: ADOPTED!
Aurora is a very kind mare needing a new home! She is easy to handle, easy to approach, lets you change her fly mask easily and stands to be groomed and brushed. She was recently seen by the equine veterinarian and was very cooperative for her Coggins blood draw. Per county policy, an auction will be held for her on Wednesday, 11/6/24 at 2:00 p.m. at the shelter premises, Citrus County Animal Services, 4030 S. Airport Rd., Inverness, FL. Anyone interested in this sweet mare needs to be present at the Animal Services facility at that time.

Not Our Dog 39 ( #? And #?)

Not gonna lie; every single day since our dog has gone missing, all 75 of them, have been a struggle emotionally. And every single day, we do something with the hope that it will be the thing that helps us find our dog.

Today's something for me included tracking down a cluster of sightings to find out if perhaps there is a neighborhood dog to whom these sightings could be attributed.

The sightings started the first week she was gone...there was another in early September, and another yesterday.

The person who reported yesterday's sighting even followed up with talking to people to try and find out if the dog belongs in the neighborhood. My shero, for sure!

But there wasn't anything definitive and it was a beautiful October day for a drive and I was out to fill a game cam feeding station, fix a sign, check on a missing sign, and had another cluster to investigate, so why not drive to Jamaica!

I spoke with a young man in the neighborhood of the sightings--he couldn't come up with any dogs he knew but took a sign and said he'd ask his dad.

I'd seen a general store on my way by and was starting to get hungry...plus I thought they might know folks in town.

The amazing thing is that the two employees I first talked to couldn't think of a dog up the hill where the sightings were. They posted a sign for me and I went in to gather my lunch.

By the time I was checking out, one of them did remember a sheep guardian up that hill. With their directions and the name of the shepherd (and some really good food) in hand, I headed back up the hill.

I found sheep and some packages delivered to a stoop but no one answered the door. I left a note under the packages on one of our flyers and hoped for the best.

Within the hour I had a call from a super nice shepherd who does indeed have a big white dog who gets through her satellite fence and wanders.

And the thing is, that's not all bad news. Now Jamaica sightings are explained and we can focus more narrowly on other unexplained sightings.

Slowly but surely, we will narrow our focus until our dog is right there. And that will be a very very good day.

So if you see a big white dog, get a picture if you can. Do not try to approach and try not to let it know you are watching!

Check out its condition and exact location and direction of travel.
