Sandy Paws Animal Hospital

Sandy Paws Animal Hospital Your local family veterinarian. Located in Monkey Junction, in beautiful Wilmington, NC. Welcome! Your pet is not a dollar sign. Your pet is FAMILY.
(2)

Here at Sandy Paws we are taking on the corporate animal hospitals and taking back our community. Your pet is definitely not an uptick on a stock price. We’re here, we see you and we definitely hear you. The cost of medical care for your pet has become OUTRAGEOUS. Not because of inflation, not because of the economy, but because of corporate greed. Full stop, that’s not how we do business here. We

are here to serve Wilmington with three main objectives:

–To take immaculate care of your pets, obviously!

–To uplift our community with fun events, educational opportunities and outreach intervention for those who are in need.

–To ensure a livable wage for our office staff (the lifeblood of any animal hospital) and to continue to raise awareness for the initiative. You will see us around at local community events. We’ll be there to support your kid’s fundraising efforts. We will be your first line of support when your fur baby needs it the most. Join us on this journey in bringing Mom & Pop Shops back to Wilmington. We can’t wait to welcome you to our paw-some family.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for family and friends to gather and celebrate, but it’s also important to keep our furry family members safe during the festivities. Here are some tips to ensure a pet-friendly Thanksgiving:

1. **Keep Food Out of Reach**: Many Thanksgiving foods can be harmful to pets. Avoid sharing turkey skin, gravy, desserts (especially sugar-free), or anything seasoned.

2. **Control Table Scraps**: Remind guests not to feed your pets without permission to avoid unsafe treats.

3. **Safe Space**: With guests coming and going, your pet might feel a bit anxious. Create a comfortable area for your pets away from the kitchen chaos and holiday bustle.

4. **Hazard Awareness**: Be cautious of decorations, holiday plants and candles, which could pose risks to curious pets.

5. **Monitor Alcohol**: Keep all alcoholic beverages away from pets, as even small amounts can be dangerous.

6. **Identification**: Ensure pets have ID tags and consider microchipping in case they escape during busy times.

7. **Plan for Boredom**: If your pet gets anxious or bored with all the activity, provide them with toys or puzzles to keep them engaged. A tired pet is less likely to get into trouble!

By taking a few simple precautions, you can ensure that your Thanksgiving celebration is enjoyable for everyone, including your beloved pets. Let’s keep our furry friends safe and happy while we all give thanks! 🦃❤️
