D & G's Paws and Claws Snack Shack 5356 U.S. 68 NORTH WILMINGTON OHIO. Our facility is next to R & L Transfer on 68, approximately 1/4 mile from I-71. Look for that beautiful American Flag.

We are very excited to be in an area where we can offer convenience, flexibility and a whole lot of tail wagging. Our location offers: holistic pet foods and treats, toys, leashes, collars, dog training (classes as well as individual and in home sessions), doggie day school and kennel free boarding. Doggie Day School: is all about individual attention and playtime in a social environment with othe

r temperament tested dogs who love to interact with people and other dogs. We pride ourselves about being a step above many doggie daycares. Your best friend will enjoy a day of play, socialization, individual help with special issues as well as walks. We keep our doggie day school small in numbers to allow us to provided individual time with your best friend. Doggie Day School/Boarding: We are offer boarding in a limited fashion, all dogs spending the night with us must be temperament tested in order to play with our Doggie Day School students. We are a kennel free facility, however we do have crates for those friends who enjoy some den time instead of sleeping on their very own air mattress with blankets. We will only board 10 dogs at a time to ensure your best friend has as much fun on their vacation as you do yours. A staff member always spends the night at our facility. Training classes/individual help: We offer a wide variety of classes and flexible days and times to our friends. At D & G's we don't believe a dog is just a dog, we believe your dog is your family member and love helping you and your best friend create a lifetime bond of trust, respect and love.

All of our dogs enter our lives to teach us something about ourselves. Dex taught me more about patience and consistency than I ever thought was necessary before. When Dex passed in July of 2023, even though I had 3 amazing dogs prepared to carry on, I really wasn't sure I could. I have never felt that deep of a devastation. It's hard to believe I'm going through the second holiday season without my very best friend who knew more about me than any other person I have ever known, yet he still offered nothing less than pure love.
Griff, my big goof, although not always appreciated by Dex, loved Dex and loves all he meets with his whole being. He loves singing, especially when he knows someone around him needs a little song in their heart. He will search your eyes until he knows you have felt his love. Oh, how I wish love and kindness could be so easy for me.

We would love to see pictures of your dogs and what they have taught you.

Sometimes, a dog comes into your life at just the right time, slipping into the cracks without you even realizing it. They don’t announce themselves as saviors or miracles—they’re simply there, slowly weaving their way into your routine, your thoughts, your feelings, and your heart. You don’t see it then, but they’re quietly pulling you out of places you thought you’d never escape.

It’s only years later, when you’re looking back, that the clarity hits you. You remember the nights when the world felt too heavy, and they sat beside you—steady and unshaken—keeping you tethered. You see how they filled your days with the kind of simple, unfiltered joy you had long forgotten existed. They didn’t fix everything, but they gave you a reason to keep going—and sometimes, that’s enough. Sometimes, that’s all you need.

And maybe that’s the beauty of it. They don’t try to save you; they just do. In their own gentle way, they become the thing you didn’t know you needed. And long after they’re gone, you realize it wasn’t just luck that they came when they did—it was love, pure and profound, walking into your life when you needed it most. Walking into your life and changing it, as if it was meant to mend and heal everything.

Where are all of our Frenchie peeps? Charli is approximately 4 years old with decades of experience. She knows what it's like to be used by humans just to make money. She knows what it's like to be tossed aside when you are too sick to make money, and she now knows how things should really be, thanks to a wonderful foster through Peaches Bully Rescue . Now, we just need to help her find that forever home for her to enjoy true happiness.
Charli is a very petite girl who does well with other dogs and has nothing but love for humans. Beware, she is a snuggle buddy, so if that is not your jam, then she would not be your girl.

Yesterday was a huge success not only for us, (Thank You for supporting our small business)but especially for the organizations who joined us with their adoptables. I was also told 's Smashtastic food truck had an amazing day. PAWS Humane Society, Inc. and the Rascal Unit spayed and neutered 52 animals also. Positive vibes only in our little section of Clinton County ohio. A few pictures of our kids from day school who joined us yesterday.

Last but definitely not least is sweet Pippa from PAWS Humane Society, Inc. . I was sorry I didn't have more time to spend with this sweet girl. She is definitely a girl who needs time to take a step back to evaluate her surroundings, I totally get it. For a slightly introverted dog to be as amazing as she was today was proof this young lady is very stable and will blossom once she has her someone. Pippa is an absolute beautiful soul who I would find devastating for her to be without her happily ever after soon.

Approximately 1 year old Ms. Loki could convince you to do just about anything with those eyes. For such a young, energetic dog, she was nothing less than amazing today. She loves to learn and loves to please humans. Beware, once you meet her, you will have a difficult time not falling in love. Our first Viszula in day school, this girl has been teaching us a lot of ways to help that obstinate intelligent soul of hers to be fulfilled so she's calmer with her friends. Does your dog like to play tug? This is a great way to teach "Done" as your default "off switch". This is a game we played with Rita from the shelter. We just started this exercise with Birdie for the first time today. It didn't take her long to catch on. We are always about incorporating learning with games. #PLAYHARDHAVEFUN #schoolfordogs

Blaze was a total Rock Star.

We've been trying out some of our new winter games for when we need to be inside more. I think the kids are loving them.
