We will never not reshare! 4 years ago the journey began!

We are so proud to be the FIRST organization to bring Community Refrigerators to the State of Delaware! Since then we now operate 6 fridges across the state, and have donated over 3000lbs of fresh produce we grow!

Thank you to our partners for taking a chance and helping us live out our mission!

Always a great day when the crew comes out to volunteer! Together, we got our garden ready for the fall/winter, and harvested 66lbs of produce that went directly into our community through our Community Refrigerator program! Almost 30lbs were the potatoes alone!

We are getting close to our goal of 1000lbs harvested this year and with your help, we will do it!

Thank you so much for your continuous support over the last 7 years!

What an amazing Community Day at this past weekend!

The Planting to Feed team handed out fresh produce harvested just hours before! To date we have harvested just under 650lbs of produce!

As fall approaches, we are still on track to harvest and donate over 1000lbs this year! Help us achieve this goal by volunteering with us on a Saturday morning!

Over the last three years, Planting to Feed Inc. has harvested over 2,300lbs of produce from our urban gardens. All of which went directly to our city via the five COMMUNITY FRIDGES in Wilmington!

Last year, our goal was to harvest 1,000lbs in a season and we CRUSHED IT!! Harvesting just under 1,200lbs. This year we have a goal of 1,500lbs!

Help us reach our goal and to continue to by donating today! Funds will go towards weekly stocking of fridges, expanding to new locations and maintaining our gardens!

Our Story

It all started while our founder was serving at her church, The Journey. A man caught her eye, she tried to catch him on his way out, but wasn't able to. On her way home, she saw him and a friend on the side of the road and pulled over. She found out they were homeless and just trying to get back on their feet. She prayed with them, and a few hours later, she returned with food and necessities. A few weeks later she met with the Outreach Ministry team at her church and told them of this idea to have a garden that could feed those who needed it most.

The first try at the garden was a failure, no volunteers and all the crops died. At the time she wanted to give up, but knew she owed it to herself and The Journey to make this work. In the following months, the group worked on growing and harvesting winter vegetables, and later served their first meals. This was our humble beginnings!

Today we are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, serving the Wilmington, DE community. Check out our website for our full story!
