Certified LOAL Members - we have an opportunity to have our teams at the finish line of the Wilmington Marathon on Feb 22. The 5k starts at 7:10 at Live Oak Bank Pavillion. Within the first hour and a half the half marathon runners will trickly in too.
Please email or text me if interested and we can get further details

One more idea- would dogs be interested in coming to the Expo instead of (or in addition to) the race? They can help relieve the pre-race stress/jitters. Expo is Friday 2/21 from noon-7p at Wilmington Convention Center. NH will have a huge area setup and could integrate the dogs there.

I will be "out of commission" for a little bit. I am finally having hand surgery on Dec 26 so light duty for a week or 2 (whatever that means)!

Beginner Obedience / AKC STAR Puppy
Puppies and Adult Dogs
Basic beginner commands such as sit, stay, heel, come, down and touch. Other behavioral issues will be addressed and discussed in class, such as, jumping, biting, pulling, etc. Dogs will learn to be social with people and learn to listen with other dogs present.
*MUST ATTEND ALL 6 CLASSES to receive Beginners Graduation Certificate
Puppies less than 1 year old will receive STAR PUPPY certificate through AKC.
Requirements: Must have rabies vaccination

Saturday mornings for 6 weeks

Level 2 Obedience - Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Preparation
Focus on attention, come, loose lead walking, sit and down stays. We will work on other commands as well, but the main goal is for your dog to come when called and to walk by your side on a loose lead with distractions. This class will begin to prepare you and your dog for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Testand Love On A Leash Therapy Dog Test.
Dogs must be 4 months of age or older to receive the CGC Title.
Requirements: Must have Beginner Obedience Skills
Starts Saturday, 12/07/2024 @ 10:30 AM for 4 weeks
Starts Thursday, 12/19/2024 @ 6:00 PM for 4 weeks
Starts Thursday, 1/23/2025 @ 6:00 PM for 4 weeks

Level 3 Obedience; Community Canine Good Citizen (CGCA) / Therapy Dog Prep
Review of all Basic Obedience skills, Canine Good Citizen Skills, Go-To-Mat and preparation for Therapy Dog skills. Focus on proofing behaviors with distractions. Introduction to walking off leash. Requirements: Must have taken Level 2 OR be pre-approved by the instructor.
