“If dogs were kept like this at the dog convention, the public would be kicking down the doors before the first ribbon was handed out.” But because they are bunnies…nothing is done. 💔 Bunnies are frequently treated as commodities and not living beings that have personalities and unique needs. We find it heartbreaking. Our Fluffle Flat will help spread awareness about buns.

Lil Lumos is not so little anymore! He is growing up and we are so thrilled for him. He still has a long way to go to trust humans, but he is taking small steps. He is not frantically hiding at every human interaction. 🏆 It will take time for his flight response to calm down. Lumos only knew survival in the wild at the start of his life, so his reaction to a safe home is totally normal at this point.

Domestic rabbits have had a lot of their survival instinct literally bred out of them. They cannot survive in the wild. People frequently dump rabbits because they think they can just live outside. This is so far from the truth! Domestic rabbits are the ultimate prey animal, so dumping them means ☠️. Both Lumos and Cho were dumped in neighboring towns this year, both lucky to be captured! Cho’s friend was not as lucky and succumbed to wild life. Bunnies need more folks to be their voice to prevent such mistreatment. ❤️ We can’t wait to open Maya’s Fluffle Flat. Coming January 2026 🤞

🤯 We can’t believe where this journey has taken us over the last 14 years! Starting an animal sanctuary was not the intent when co-founders Ben and Jen bought their home…but it seems like it was truly meant to be. This land is a haven for our animals. It keeps giving safety and possibility for those needing refuge. Thanks for being here and making it happen. This transformation would not have happened without support from you all! We couldn’t help these lives without you. 🫶

Kitty ❤️ Hagrid… It’s the sweetest relationship ever. Now that’s its cuddle season, we get to see more of them together. 🥹🥹🥹 Sanctuary brings friends together. This is a rare sighting of barn kitty since he only shows himself to Jen…when he is in the mood. 😆

Sanctuary work is 24/7. It’s been suggested we wait until spring to complete these sheds but the problem is…the to do list literally never stops! By delaying this, we will delay other projects we need to get done. Why wait and look at it all winter when we can accomplish some things before spring? We have a deadline for having electricity go live so we can heat these spaces. Therefore Ben is working in the dark with a headlamp. With the time change, there is now even less daylight hours. We can feel winter creeping in but we WILL have these sheds ready for use in the new year! We are determined. 💪 and by we…it’s all Ben! 🤣 👏

Look at this little boy grow!! 🥹🥹🥹 Now we just need him to relax. He has been terrified of us from day 1. We set up a camera in the room to check on him. He is so relaxed when we are not around. He is slowly getting better and won’t immediately run when we open the door to say hi. This is progress! We know it will take time and patience with Lumos since all he has known is a scared existence of survival in the outdoors.

Our Queen B 👑 🐝 is one of the main reasons we started a sanctuary. She was terrified of humans but blossomed when given patience, compassion and friends. We feel she could tell it was a safe space here. This old lady has come such a long way!
