Welcome to our 1,500 new Facebook followers! We hit 5,000 followers on Facebook, which is a big deal for a little organization like us! 🥳 A video of co-founder Ben running to save pasture seed from wild turkeys got over 1 million views! 🤯 We are so happy you found Ben’s antics funny and want to see more of what goes on in sanctuary. We care for abused and neglected farm animals but always like to have fun while doing it.

For those of you that are new here, we wanted to introduce ourselves and share Sybill’s story. Sybill the goat arrived this June and has had a beautiful transformation. In sanctuary, we take animals from surviving to thriving! Sybill is the prime example of our mission. 🐐 ❤️ Watch the video our friends at Cuddle Buddies put together.

About us: We are a nonprofit charity organization which relies on community support to do this work. We operate on only donations and are 100% volunteer run. No one is paid to do this work. Co-founders Jen and Ben are the main caretakers of the sanctuary herd. Their work started by adopting rescue animals and watching their lives change for the better once they had both their physical and mental needs met. At Bark & Bray, we believe that animals need both physical and emotional needs met to thrive! Bark & Bray has successfully united abused animals that were in need of friends or a herd. Now they live their best lives in the safety of forever sanctuary. Thanks for following along. ❤️

There are two great ways to support the sanctuary coming up! You can be near or far.

❄️ Locals! You can help us prep for winter by volunteering 2 hours of their time on Saturday November 2. We can accomplish so much with multiple helping hands in 2 hours! RSVP required.

🎁 You can donate a silent auction item by mail if you live far away. We are looking for handmade items or crafts, gift baskets, gift cards or experiences/services. This is a great opportunity for businesses to donate. So far, we have 4 amazing businesses donating something in support of the animals.

🏆 Save the date for our 2nd annual online silent auction for your holiday shopping. Bidding opens Saturday November 23 at 9 AM and closes Sunday December 1 at 5 PM EST

💜 Spoiler alert ‼️ Deluxe sponsorships with one of a kind gifts will be available during the auction. If you’ve fallen in love with one of the sanctuary residents, you don’t want to miss this deluxe sponsorship opportunity. Sponsorship can make a great gift while making a difference in the life of that animal.

Today is the last day of Amazon Prime deals! Shop our wish list for the herd. We are prepping for winter and need a few things to make them comfortable. I know it’s not exciting to buy extension cords, but these mean SO much to the animals. They provide heated water that doesn’t freeze and gives the animals a warm belly on cold days. It kind of feels like it does when us humans have a hot tea or coffee on a cold day. ☕️ And unfortunately they have to be the expensive frost proof ones because temps go below freezing most of winter here in NH. 🥶

Thank you to those who bought wish list items already! We appreciate your support so much. You are making an impact on the lives of the animals. 💜

Lily couldn’t resist touching and breaking the bed! Poor Syb is heartbroken and keeps trying to lay on it. 😅🥹
We have a lot of wish list items to help us prepare for winter. This includes 2 indestructible elevated beds for Sybill. Amazon Prime deals are happening Oct 8 and 9 so it’s a good time to check out our wish list

We really need:
🛏️ 2 elevated beds for the goats…for so many activities! 😉 IFKYK
🐐 Food storage containers so we can safely keep goat feed in the barn. We currently carry 8 bowls over 100 feet from the house to the barn daily due to many meals needing to be soaked. Having safe feed storage in the barn would cut down on 2 bowls!
🔌 Freeze proof outdoor extension cords for heated water buckets. These only last 1 season and usually putter out by April each season.
🎥 3 more WiFi cameras so we can check on the herd easily at any time
⚡️ Solar electric fence charger for the last few weeks of grazing time. The goatie girls are escaping from Queen’s pasture but we want them to enjoy it to the max before ❄️
🥶 Freezer flaps for the barn and shelter openings to keep the animals warm with less drafts

Find this and more on our Amazon Wish List. Link in our bio or stories! Thanks for the support in giving these animals the best life.

Coming to Sanctuary is the sweetest little goatie girl! She is going to be Sybill’s BFF! 👯‍♀️

Lily has had a rough start to life, just like Sybill. She was in a hoarding situation of over 100 animals, over 40 of which were goats. They were in deplorable conditions among deceased and decaying animals. Female goats can become pregnant as young as 8 weeks old. Sadly, this was Lily’s fate. She has spent most of her life pregnant or feeding her baby, which is not fair for a young goat. Her growth is certainly stunted by poor nutrition. Unfortunately she has been bullied by every goat herd she has been with. We are hoping that with just 2 goats this will be different. Plus our Sybill is a docile goat who thinks she is a dog. Lily also thinks she is a dog and spent time in foster hanging out with a dog while delivering her kid. We feel their age and temperaments match and hope to see them grow up together. 🌱

Lily deserves a soft landing in forever sanctuary. By sponsoring, you can secure this for her. Sponsors will get the first look at her new life in sanctuary before the public. AND the first 3 people to sponsor at $10 a month or $120 a year or more will get a Lily plushie with their welcome packet. Learn about the benefits of sponsorship on our website.

Come say hi 👋 to us Sunday at Wilmotpalooza! We will have a cattle roping station for kids and adults to try. This is on a dummy. 🐮 We also have NEW B&B stickers! 🤩

We only rope the cows when necessary for their safety and vet care. This is needed because 2 out of 3 of our cows are unhandled and basically feral. 😅 When a 2000 lb animal doesn’t want their vaccines, you must be able to get them done for their wellbeing. We have to be able to safely contain them when necessary and roping is working for us. ♥️

We had so much fun at our first Lake Sunapee Region Chamber Night! We met a ton of community members, saw some friends, and gave out over 50 B&B stickers. 🤩 It’s always amazing when people are interested in hearing about our mission. 🥹

See our Heavyweight Champ Maxime 🐮 Saturday in the Hospital Days parade! Our friends at asked us to collaborate with them on a float. You can see 2000 lb Maxime’s stunt double then! Don’t miss it! 🥇 🐮

These photos are of our wonderful volunteers! We are 100% volunteer run. Volunteers are totally “Our People”. They understand the cause and they love being a part of it. Sometimes when talking to the community, you get interesting responses to our mission. One said, “What good is a goat?”. 💔 We know we don’t have to answer this for our followers here. But statements like this make us grateful that we have a bunch of people that are indeed Our People! That means you! Thanks for being here and following our journey. Stay positive and keep loving animals. 💜 🐐 🐮

It’s prime day July 16 and 17! That means prime members get deals. If you want to buy the herd a gift, take a look at our wish lists. Link in the comments or in our linktree and stories

Our top needs are:
-Solar cameras so we can check on the cows where we have no electricity 🎥
-Atleast 1 more solar fan for the new cow area (which is 95% done!! 🥳
- Sybill the goat’s nutrition supplement called nutridrench to support her in recovery
- Dog scoopers to clean Sybill’s 🐐 area
-Mineral salts with garlic to help keep the flies away from the cows. They are so bad this year with the unusual heat and humidity for NH
-Halter for Sybill so we can start training to go on adventures 💜
