Have you seen the sign for Maya’s Fluffle Flat?! It came out amazing! God & Country Workshop made this by hand! They are so talented and easy to work with. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for making our vision come to life! 🫶

The Flat is still a work in progress but the outside is almost done. There are some final painting and touches we are adding. Next, we can insulate the floor. We are waiting on electrical rough in before we can start finishing the inside. We are feeling the pressure of winter but are still hoping she can be done by then! 🐰 🥕 🌈

Dear friends and supporters,
We have some exciting news to share!! We have been working on this for the past four months and now have confirmation that our dreams can come true!

Our dreams reach high for animals because we want to provide an outstanding living space that enhances their quality of life. As you know, our animal residents come from bad pasts and we help them thrive for the rest of their lives. We are excited to say that we can now accomplish this by expanding our pasture by 2 1/2 acres! This will be an amazing space for the cows and other animals to enjoy all summer long.

This growth will lay the foundation for future expansion, which will allow us to help more animals in need. ❤️

This is happening thanks to an 😇 angel named Maya who gifted the sanctuary funds. She is an angel donor whose wishes are to see animals enjoying life. We are honoring Maya with The Fluffle Flat Rescue Bunny Project and field expansion! With these projects comes necessary upgrades such as adding water and electricity to everywhere the animals need it. We have been caring for the cows with NO water or electricity access and now... this is going to change! We have also been feeding all the animals from our personal kitchen sink. Yes…you read that right. We will be adding a heated feed cottage to store all the feed, medications and supplies. Plus it will have hot water for soaking feed. This means our volunteer program can expand! Volunteers can now assist with feeding since it will be out of our personal home. We dedicate our lives to this work but it’s nice to have some private personal space. As a reminder, the sanctuary does not own property, but is allowed to use it by the owners aka us! (co-founders Jen and Ben). The sanctuary is very much dependent on our ability to own property that it can use. No one is paid for their work at the sanctuary, so we work at our day jobs to keep this dream for the animals alive.

This will all be completed by end of Fall. We can’t wait to share the completed project! We appreciate your support, which is making this happen. 🫶

With much gratitude,
Co-founders Jen and Ben Taylor

Our mini donkey Big D has asthma, which is severe enough it requires an inhaler twice a day. We do a lot of things to keep her heaves or equine asthma stable. First we soak all her hay so it limits the dust she inhalers. Next, we keep her out of the barn during stall cleaning because the dust from the shavings is a trigger. We also have to sue a certain brand because some brands are dustier than others. We give her special liquid medication as needed for bad exacerbations when she is wheezy. Lastly, we keep a close eye on her during hot and humid, smoky skies and severely cold weather. All these things can make it hard for her to breathe. We have worked closely with our vet and found the inhaler keeps her stable and away from steroids. 4 years ago, she developed laminitis from steroids used to treat her asthma flares. This is just one example of the individualized care we give our animals. ❤️
