🛑 PSA STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND TAKE A LOOK AT THIS🛑

Are your pets on their flea and tick meds?

This is a tick! ⚠️ with my terribly manicured thumb for scale!!

This guy is TINY and can go unnoticed for DAYS or WEEKS, especially on darker coated animals! You may not even notice them until they’re engorged or on YOU!

I pulled this off a dog today during bath time 🛁 this is a strong reminder to KEEP UP ON YOUR PET’S FLEA AND TICK MEDS 🐶🐱

Where there is one there is hundreds more, especially being this small. It is imperative to keep up on your preventative! Ticks can carry many diseases, the most common one being Lyme disease. Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, anaplasmosis, and babeseosis are a few more found in the US 😓

Ticks are most active when it’s above 45 degrees outside. We have had some nice weather recently. I typically recommend you continue to give your pets flea and tick preventative throughout winter because we have odd weather but this really seals it for me!

You don’t want your pet, friend, or family member to contract a tick borne illness! If you catch them too late, they can be fatal or life changing 💝

Bravecto, seresto collar, frontline are a few of the ones I have used and have worked for me. Seresto collar doesn’t *quite* last as long as it’s supposed to but it is effective for at least 4-5 months. Bravecto is a 3 month chewable tablet. Frontline is a monthly topical.

(I carry flea&tick bath products and can give your pet a flea&tick bath)

All jokes aside, we recommend starting puppies as early as 8 weeks! As long as they have their first round of vaccinations ❤️ early socialization and exploration helps them SO MUCH in the long run!

It has been such a crazy year that I forgot to say:

✨HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY PAWZ AND CLAWZ✨

I started this business from the ground up TWO years ago on July 26th (only two months late, ya know 🤪)
We’ve had many trials/errors and I have learned SO much over the past 26 months! I’ve gained more skills and knowledge, expanded my services, started dabbling in retail for our furry friends, and have even helped some clients with my knowledge in the vet industry! Seeing how far I’ve come along makes me appreciate it that much more 🙏🏼

I hope you know every time you drop off your pup (or kitty) that you leave them in *one* of the best hands possible 😇 not that I am a perfect groomer because I am NOT! But I DO love your pet like I love mine and make sure they know they’re loved while they’re here in my care 🥹 shout out to ALYSSA for being my backbone and helping me, especially in the beginning of this year!

I couldn’t do all of this without my support from you guys of course! So I would like to extend my gratitude to all my wonderful clients new and old! I have a few things up my sleeve for the end of this year/beginning of next, so stay tuned for future announcements in the coming days/weeks! 🐶❤️🐱

Good morning ☀️

I haven’t posted in 2 weeks so I feel it’s a good time to update everyone…I want to thank you all for the continuous love, support and prayers that are being sent my family’s way. My dad is home from the hospital. We are currently waiting for insurance approval so he can receive home care while he is being treated for his cancer. He cannot be left alone due to his imbalance and low muscle in his legs.

He has physical therapy a few times a week so he can gain his strength to hopefully overcome this disease that he’s already beaten once. He’s currently on steroids which seem to be helpful in keeping him alert, awake, and able bodied to do the physical therapy. When I asked him if he felt strong enough to go through everything, his response was “no not really but I don’t want to die from cancer…” which absolutely broke me.

He starts “gamma knife” radiation and chemo next week. The radiation is supposed to be better than what he went through previously 10+ years ago. The radiation will be for 3 days at a time opposed to 15 and then the dr wants him to have chemo for one week a month for a year if his body can withstand that. I will keep updating as time goes on

I want to extend apologies to anyone whose appointment has been affected by these issues we are having. I do want to reiterate that I do deeply appreciate the kindness being given to me and I absolutely would understand if you had to find a different groomer because things happen! Please remember to always remain kind because you do not know what people are going through. Your smile, or words of encouragement could be the reason someone doesn’t feel so alone today.

Update on my dad:

He has those tests to do today to confirm whether or not the cancer has came back, there’s a consult tomorrow for the results and steps moving forward for treatment

He has his good days and bad days, he is sleeping a lot…

🛑UPDATE ON MY DAD🛑

The doctor sees growth, 90% sure the cancer has returned. He mentioned radiation damage but it is unlikely. He also sees numerous “seeds” as well that are deeply rooted. This unfortunately means it would be inoperable.

They are doing a spinal tap and PET scan within the next week to confirm or deny suspicions. And then we will figure out a treatment plan from there.

He’s being moved back to the rehab facility to continue doing physical therapy so he can regain strength and muscle mass while we figure out what to do next.

Update on my dad:

They did a second MRI. They repeated bloodwork. His kidney levels are decreasing (good sign). He’s still on antibiotics for his infected teeth

Still no definite or concrete answer on these lesions in his brain

He has several in the frontal lobe, and the thalamus

When they did his brain surgery 10+ years ago, they couldn’t completely remove the tumors as the “tendrils” were rooted in his brain. They scooped out as much as physically possible and treated him with chemo and radiation. The possibility of them returning is high- because they couldn’t be completely removed

They ruled out abscess or infections in the brain. The lesions that are there currently could be just damaged tissue, calcified lesions, or it could be cancerous

The dr wants to send him to rehab for physical therapy but with no concrete answer on what these lesions are, we are hesitant to go that route because IF it is cancerous it will be highly aggressive and will need to be treated immediately in order for him to have a chance

We are going to take him to see his original oncologist to see if a biopsy should be done or if they think the information we have is good enough to just send him in for physical therapy

He is feeling a little better, still cannot walk without assistance but he is eating really well and coherent!

I’ll be back to work on Monday for those of you that have been waiting for a callback or message. I do apologize for the delay and lack in responses I wil get back to everyone in the order in which I received them

🛑Good morning everyone🛑

My dad has been in the hospital. He had some tests done and his MRI came back with an abnormal brain scan. If you know me personally, you know that my dad had brain cancer when I was younger. He beat it and has been in remission ever since.

This abnormal brain scan could mean a variety of different things, none of which are particularly great or better than the next. But I am going to be a little distraught in the coming weeks until I know what the course of action is and what is exactly going on.

I haven’t gotten back to messages or voicemails yet so please just be patient while I maneuver everything and try to keep things going at a peaceful rate.

As of right now, evening appointments on Tuesdays and Saturday day appointments are for those of you that are on the schedule already. I will not be taking new clients for evenings or Saturdays unless they stick with a 4-6-8 week schedule. Please send a message to Facebook or shoot me a text and I will get back to you for an appointment as soon as I can.

Please do not reach out on multiple forms of communication, I promise I see your message and will get back to you.

Please pray for my dad. I cannot lose him yet. He still needs to see me grow and prosper so I can take care of him like he did me throughout childhood, get married, see his grandchildren
