We are incredibly proud of Nicky McNeely, our Training & Operations Specialist for ER/Referral Services! She recently presented "The Basics of Blood Smears: How to Make and Evaluate Blood Smears" at IVECCS 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri! She absolutely crushed it!

Blood smear evaluation is essential, serving as a quality control measure to validate automated Complete Blood Count results. These results can help identify the specific illness your pet may be facing.

Nicky's passion for sharing knowledge and supporting fellow professionals reflects Vets Pets' commitment to nurturing talent and fostering growth. Her presentation will also be published in the 2024 IVECCS proceedings.

Congrats Nicky!

From engaging games for all ages to mouth-watering food from local restaurants, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who made the day unforgettable. During Vet Tech Week, we recognize the incredible heart and empathy technicians bring to their work. Their strength and resilience shine, even in the most challenging moments. Their skills are immeasurable, and their compassion is unmatched. They are the backbone of veterinary medicine.

You support us every day, but this week, we celebrate you. A heartfelt thank you to all vet techs and the entire veterinary team!

We are blown away by the incredible ways our practices, team members, and community continue to step up. After careful consideration of how Vets Pets can contribute meaningfully, we are excited to announce a donation to the Friends of NCVMA Disaster Relief Fund.

We have chosen the Friends of NCVMA Disaster Relief Fund because, like us, they are deeply rooted in North Carolina and committed to long-term efforts. This decision was made with your support and the belief that these funds will directly benefit animals, team members, and veterinarians within our state. Contributing to this fund will be part of our ongoing dedication to supporting the veterinary community.

That's a wrap on the Purr-fect Pace Challenge for September!

Vets Pets encouraged our teams to enjoy the beautiful weather while focusing on their well-being. We believe personal health is the foundation of workplace wellness, and what better way to promote it than through a month-long challenge filled with walking, running, cycling, and some friendly competition?

Our team embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, from solo strolls to group outings, with a few pets joining in on the fun. Stay tuned for more fun— the winning practice will enjoy a cookout with our CEO, Steve Thomas.
