I will be away with my family and out of the office starting Monday July 8. I will return Monday July 22, rested and ready to greet you and your pets! While I am away, the clinic will be open with limited hours (from 9am to 1pm daily) in order to assist with medication refills and answer questions. We have a local private practice that may be able to see your pet if they are ill. Please call my office at 203-762-6655 for advice if you need help.
As always, if we are closed and your pet needs immediate medical attention, please head to the closest emergency clinic.
I’ll see you when I return!

It’s the time of year when I escape with my family for some R&R and brain rest. I will be out of the office until Monday, July 18th. While I’m away, the lovely CarolAnne Keely will be at the office from 9-12 Tuesday through Friday the week of the 4th and Monday through Friday the week of the 11th. She will be able to assist with medication refills and non urgent scheduling requests.
Dr Alvarez at Animal Wellness Veterinary Center (570 Main Avenue, Norwalk, 203-295-8080) will be assisting with urgent care needs and Carolanne can send patient records from our office if needed.
The emergency clinics in our area (VCA in Norwalk 203-854-9960 and Cornell University Veterinary Specialists in Stamford 203-595-2777) are open and available 24/7 as always.
I hope you have an enjoyable holiday weekend and will see you all when I get back.
Stuart will be manning the fort at home with his favorite pet sitter.

Because we can’t seem to
get a clear picture of when the roads will be covered in ice, the office will be closed today. No one likes to get stuck at a vet’s office.

Another weather delay. Due to the snow, the office will open at 11:00 this morning. Stay safe out there!

01/05/2022

Due to the icy road conditions, our office has adjusted hours for today. We will open at 11:00 this morning. We apologize for any incovenience. Please stay safe out there!

News flash: Today is my birthday!! Despite my old man face, I’m only turning three. I asked for a cake but Mom said I’d have to settle for extra cookies. And she made me come to work today. I’ll be sure to snore extra loud tonight.

Where to start...
If you are reading this, Yay for you! We are at the clinic regular hours, with power thanks to the generator. But we are completely cut off from the outside world. No phone, internet, and very limited cell service. If you have a scheduled appointment and can make it in, please do. If you need to reach us, try emailing at [email protected] and when I get to a spot with service I will be checking.
If you are a regular client and your pet needs to be seen, and you can’t reach us by phone/text/email, you can stop in and we will do our best to accommodate you - socially distanced as appropriate.
Stay safe and fingers crossed that we have somewhat of a return to normal soon!! Thanks for your understanding.

UPDATE:
As of now, we are open regular hours. That may change as demand dictates. The Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) is keeping members informed on our status as "essential" businesses. They have been assured that veterinarians will be able to continue to provide services to our patients and their people. I'm waiting for the next update on this and will post when I hear anything.

WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW:
We are staggering appointments so there is minimal to no overlap between clients. We clean the exam rooms as always between appointments, and now we wipe down doorknobs and commonly touched surfaces as well. We are NOT asking clients to remain in their cars and taking pets away. If you request this, we will accommodate; however I will not force you to do so unless someone tells me I have to . As you know, that goes against my gut and the practice model I have developed over the last 20+ years. It scares some of the patients and I want to avoid that. A number of clients have asked for curbside pick up - no problem! Just ask. Call when you arrive and one of us will bring the medication or food out to you.

I'll keep you updated. We will get through this!
