Hey there, it's me, Mandi! I'm asking for your help to find a home. I like everyone! People, dogs, and cats are all great! I need a home with a fenced yard, and other than that, I'm pretty flexible.

I went to a new foster home a couple of weeks ago and I'm doing great, but their scheduled vacation is coming up and now there's a work trip on Monday and I need another place, temporary or longer. I'd really love to just be adopted.

Our rescue partner, Final Frontier Rescue Project, has obtained $10k of matching funds! We currently house 16 rescues that need food, meds, training and enrichment until they find their forevers. Their lives are worth it!

Benefit Yard Sale for Rescue Dogs at RDR! 🐶
All purchases will help the dogs with their medical bills, treat supplies, and other boarding expenses! Our core mission at RDR is to create a trauma-free environment where all dogs can feel safe and loved, whether they are on the road to their forever family or coming to “sleep away camp” while their family travels. Help us continue to build a bridge for our 16 rescue pups in boarding, we know their forever families are out there somewhere!
In partnership with Final Frontier Rescue Project, we’ve helped rescue, rehab, and place over 350 dogs in the last 6 years that would’ve never had a chance at due process. So come on over and shop clothing, furniture, household goods, and teacher supplies , because 100% of the proceeds goes towards the care of our dogs. 💜🐶💜

Our sweet gorgeous girl Pickles is READY for her perfect home with another friendly dog. We are having major repairs Oct 1-5, so we’d love to find her a compassionate foster home before then, please shout it from the rooftops!

Pickles's story. October 19, 2023 was the deadline for 5-month-old Pickles at Bastrop County Animal Services. At just 5 months old, after two adoptions and returns, Pickles was in danger of being killed for fearful behavior. She had reportedly growled at a child. Just a reminder: growling is appropriate communication that a dog is uncomfortable and needs space! When growling is suppressed, ignored, or punished, the dog may escalate to a bite. Pickles was just letting her people know her needs without hurting anyone.

After rescuing her, we quickly saw her fear and timidity, so when we had potential adopters, counseling them about helping her feel safe was top priority. And yet, 5 weeks later, Pickles was returned AGAIN for the same reason as her returns to the shelter. This time, though, it was even worse. Her adopters had subjected her to surgical removal of her dewclaws, and they had used a shock collar on her. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Pickles has been living at River Dog Ranch for months now, and while she has enjoyed interactions with staff and volunteers, and playgroups with other dogs, she needs a home of her own. We hope her friends will add pics and video in the comments!

Trainer Pat Sampsel with Both Ends of the Leash, LLC recently spent some time with Pickles at RDR and sent us a training plan for her. Once we have approved fosters or adopters, we will schedule a session to set Pickles up for success in her home.

Can anyone pitch in to help this little Pip Squeak? She was found right down the road from River Dog Ranch, and we’ve covered all of her initial vetting, boarding, flea treatments, etc…Today she gets her finishing treatments so she can be available for adoption! Every little bit counts for this Little Bit 🐶💜🐶

Can you help us get Pippi ready to go to her new home? She was found as a stray and efforts to find her owner have been unsuccessful. We need to get her to the vet today for vaccines, heartworm and f***l tests, and microchip before she goes to foster tomorrow. The cost will be around $300. She will need a dental cleaning, too, but that's in the future.

Lookit this smiley guy! Driller needs a home with lots of love. He’s afraid of other dogs after a traumatic experience, and would thrive in a home where he gets alllll the love.

Driller loves all people. He would like a home with a fenced yard and people who will love him as much as he loves them. Driller needs to be the only pet for now.

We are ecstatic, just like River, that it’s National Dog Day! We celebrate dogs every day—the rambunctious dogs, the silly dogs, the shy dogs, and even the scaredy dogs. Our mission is to help dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes find their happy place. Like a summer camp for dogs—where they can be themselves and discover that people are predictable, safe, and loving through consent-based interactions. We Love Dogs, even when they need a little help to learn that people will meet their needs for safety and autonomy. Happy National Dog Day every day!

Abigail enjoyed her spa experience in ’sTub today at RDR!
Anytime your pup gets an exit bath, ALL proceeds go to help our rescue dogs! Because of Abigail and her sis MJ, four of our rescues get one night of boarding! We are always dreaming up creative ways to help our dogs, while simultaneously Keeping Wimberley Dogs Beautiful! 🛁🐶🐥

Full disclosure: we currently have 13 rescue dogs in boarding, at the steeply discounted rate of $25/night. That’s about 340 nights a month (some do get short kennels breaks with fosters or take a break with me in my apartment). Plus, we happily donate 6-7 additional kennel spaces every month to other rescue dogs from Wimberley. We are receiving about $1,500 in donations from our rescue partners, so we are desperately trying to close the gap. Every little Bath counts!

Check out our buddy Finn! He’s been living at RDR for almost a year, he deserves a loving home that understands him!

The charming and adorable Finn makes the cover of Pawple. 🐾 He wanted to talk about boundaries and earning trust. Finn may be cute, but he doesn’t want to be handled like a play toy - thank you very much. 🐶

Finn gets a lot of attention, but he is a dog that needs time and space to feel comfortable. We can all understand that, right? No one wants someone in their face constantly trying to get you to consent to things that are stressful. Once Finn’s needs are met for predictability, safety, and consent then he becomes a silly and loving dog! 💙 But, that takes time. We think Finn is worth that time. Do you? Can you provide a home with understanding and respect for Finn, who needs new people to take things slowly, very slowly? It may take time, but seeing Finn act like a puppy with his squeaky toys is adorable. Seeing him finally feel comfortable enough to snuggle and rest his head on you is simply wonderful. Big thank you for the staff of River Dog Ranch that continues to help Finn while he waits for his furever home. 🥰 🏡

Tyler. Ty Ty. TJ. This hilarious and precious puppy has been in boarding with us for a few weeks, and he really deserves a home of his own! He is very smart, athletic and active, and would do best in a home where he gets tons of love, gentle structure and routine. Our friends in FFRP are doing the difficult, heartbreaking work of saving lives, and we are so happy to provide a bridge to Tyler’s forever!

Tyler is about a year old, 55-60 pounds, and he’s one of our many dogs living in boarding for lack of a home. Tyler is a super smart, exuberant young boy. He’s a little intimidated by the barking of the dogs when there’s foot traffic in the kennel. Tyler is basically social toward other animals but needs some practice with his manners. He needs a home with a fenced yard.
