It’s been a great summer so far. We got out and did something a little different today!

1) 4 year old Hanoverian filly by Apiro. 15.1 with a giant step. Show miles, auto lead change, simple ride. Will be competitive in any ring and is really a lovely type. mid fives
2) 5 year old KWPN mare by Waterford. 16 hands. Fancy, fancy with lots of chrome. Low miles for her age, due to no fault of her own. Stick and spur ride. mid fives
3) Fancy Westfalen yearling filly by Apiro. Chestnut with all the chrome. Will be a hunter star. low fives
4) 8 year old tb gelding. 16 hands. Sweet, good natured guy. Has done a little of everything. low fives.
5) Two pony prospects... both 4 years old, both adorable bucksins. One small, one medium. Green but very good natured. Lowest fives to perfect situation, otherwise will be putting more miles on them this summer.

Meet Calloway, aka Callie. Hope delivered this filly around midnight last night. Callie presented as a dummy foal; she could not stand and would not suckle. We ended up doing the Madigan Squeeze and we are cautiously optimistic. We will have a lot more information and updates on this condition coming your way (after our brain fog clears from no sleep haha).

Meet Leila. You’ve probably seen her in videos teaching the tiny tots to ride. What you probably don’t know is how we ended up with her at NMF. A good friend had to layover a few horses for a couple days at NMF. When it was time for them to leave, nobody could catch her in the field; we tried every trick in the book. A couple days later, Kate jokingly said “I’ll give $20 to anyone who can catch her.” And sure enough, Cat and Maddie pony wrangled and got Leila into the barn and we got to see what a sweet, sweet girl she is. Kate chatted with her owner and he agreed to let Leila stay at NMF, and we couldn’t be happier. Well into her 30’s, Leila lives the best life with her herd friends and now is happily caught (haha) a couple times a week for tiny tots. 📸

What a wonderful evening we had celebrating at the CHJA banquet last night. Thank you to the CHJA for all their hard work throughout the year, culminating in this awesome event. And congratulations to our award winners: Cat Sepples, Olivia Putnam, Irene Peluso, and Katie & Zoey Howard. We are sure blessed with special people and horses in our lives. Cheers to 2024.

We had the pleasure of hosting some students from Northwest Regional last week. They practiced aging horses via dental exams and presented us with this lovely certificate. We love opportunities to be part of the local community!

1) Venti: 16 hand 2017 tb mare. Super quiet, no spook, very straightforward ride. Brave to the fences, auto change. Could really do any job. Consistently coursing at 2’6”, lots of scope for more. No soundness issues. Not marish. Low fives.
2) Hideout: 15.3 hand 2019 tb mare. A lot of talent wrapped up in a plain package. Kick along ride, zero spook. This horse is the exact same horse anywhere she goes. Working on her changes, super willing, and unlimited potential. Coursing 2’6” currently. No soundness issues, not marish. Low fives
3) Ainslie: 2020 homebred Hanoverian mare. Currently 15 hands with a little growing left to do. Who is looking for a fancy hony?! Brave to the fences, auto change, a lofty trot and cadenced canter. This horse can do any job and would be great for a kid or amateur in a program. Mid fives
4) Ransom: for on farm lease… super fancy been there, done that gelding. Has stepped down from his impressive show career and is looking for a rider that wants to enjoy him at home. This guy is a barn favorite.
5) Ophelia: 2019 KWPN mare. 16 hands. Serious hunter prospect. Lovely mover with all the chrome. Backed and jumping tiny jumps. Has a natural change. A little green for her age just due to lack of time. Low mid fives

Great horse show day at Westbrook! Ainslie (piloted by Lizzy) was champion in the 18” CT Training Hunter, winning 3 of her 4 classes at her first show ever! Vivika and Irene came out champions in the child/adult jumpers with 3 awesome trips. Hideout was also a star at her first horse show, with great trips and good ribbons. Thanks to Colleen for ground support and pictures!
