The requirements are as followed:
Must be 18
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Valid Driver's License
US Resident
No felony Convictions some Misdemeanor can also disqualify you
Must be able to pass drug test

Application can be picked up at the animal shelter located at 900 N West Street in Wi******er between the hours of 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday.

Applications will be accepted until March 8, 2024 until 12 PM. Hours and pay will be discussed during interviews.

Meet Lady!!

Lady comes to us as a stray. She is very dog selective, so a meet and greet would be required for her. She is very energetic and she is definitely food driven.

If you’re looking to add to your family in time for Valentine’s Day, stop on in at the shelter and take a look at the dogs we have up for adoption! They’re all really sweet dogs, just looking for a person to take them in and make them feel welcomed and loved. You could take them for walks or throw tennis balls! The dogs would absolutely love to see everyone!

We have taken so many dogs in the last few days. We have had several people reach out that we have their dog in our facility. If your dog is here please make arrangements to get it picked up.

We are shouting from the rooftops HAPPY TAILS to Hops! After 188 days at the shelter, he was able to find the perfect furever home! Thank you for giving Hops the love and life he deserves. We sure are going to miss him greeting us every morning at the shelter!!🐾

Say hello to Hops!
Hops is a 3 year old lab/boxer/heeler mix. He is leash trained and will walk beside you. He sits on command for treats and can almost shake for a treat! He loves being around you and LOVES being outside!
He will jump up and give you all the hugs you want, if you let him. He seems to be okay with the dogs here at the shelter but a meet and greet would be preferred. He has a whole lotta love to give to the his person. Could that be you? If yes, then stop on in and you can fill out the paperwork and we will go from there! 🐾

My name is Hops! I’m a 3 year old lab/boxer/red heeler mix. I know how to sit on command for treats and will eat every single one you want to give me! I do really like to jump up and give hugs to anyone who will let me. I know no stranger and I don’t mind the other dogs here at the shelter! I do like to play with toys but I don’t really the concept of bringing anything back yet.
I LOVE the outdoors! If I could be outside all day, then that would make me extremely happy! The hoomans that are taking care of me say I would be perfect on either a farm or as a trick dog with the right training! If I seem like your cup of tea, then stop on in and see me! I would love to see you! 💕

Meet Oscar!! Oscar came to us a a stray so what we know about him is limited to what we have observed here at the shelter. He is a corgi mix, about a year old, and he’s been here since December 12, 2023. He did a good job at the vets office, when he was neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm tested (negative) and vet checked. He loves all the dogs here at the shelter and doesn’t know any stranger. He likes to sit for treats and he loves playing fetch. Sometimes he doesn’t get the concept of bringing the ball back, but it just adds to his charm! He is all ready to get into his furever home! If you would like to come and meet him, just stop on in! He would love to see everyone! Our hours of operation are: Monday-Friday: 7am-5pm 🐾

Meet Phantom!! Phantom has been at the shelter for 94 days but that doesn’t put a damper on his spirit! We believe him to be a pitbull mix, about 4 years of age. He’s the most loving dog when he wants to be but also really enjoys his alone time. He LOVES to be outside and will just sit and watch the clouds. He really enjoys taking baths and is very food motivated. He is looking for his fur-ever family to bring in this new year. Would you be willing to open up your couch and your heart for him? Governor Holcomb signed a proclamation making Nov 5 -12 Adopt a Hoosier Shelter Pet Week. It's our goal to adopt all of our adoptable pets out this week. We have several who have been here almost a half year!! We will be posting our adoptable dogs this week and pushing hard to get them out and into loving homes. Stop in and see us! We know the dogs would absolutely love it! 🐾

🚨🚨FOSTERED🚨🚨 Gunner- male, German shepherd, about 6 months old. He’s the sweetest puppy but doesn’t really like walking on the leash but with some training, he will learn to like it. We have him on a specialized diet to try and get him to gain weight. He doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter but we are unsure of cats.
