Turkeys like Ricky have at least 20 different vocalizations to communicate with each other and can memorize the ground down to every rock or fallen tree branch of 1,000 acres!! (meanwhile I'm getting lost in a big box store 😂) The colors of his face and neck change based on his emotions. This year, give these amazing, intelligent animals a true pardon and let them live!

Some generous friends of the sanctuary have made an electrical upgrade project possible! 🎉
Phase one of the work has been completed with the installation of this sub panel and outdoor rated outlets. Phase two will involve trenching electrical cable from the barn to this sub panel and the installation of additional outlets. This will provide power to our sheep barn, bird quarantine building and the three cockfighting survivor houses. This will allow the installation of lighting, heaters and medical equipment in these areas. We'll also have dedicated outdoor outlets for 2 water trough heaters and the battery tender for the tractor. Thank you so much for your generosity and support so we may continue to grow, better provide for the rescued animals and make work easier for our volunteers!

CEDAR GROVE — Peaceful Fields Sanctuary continues its mission of rescuing farm animals that have been abused or neglected.

Peaceful Fields Sanctuary partnered with Charles County, MD to rescue a group of birds from a criminal cruelty case. 8 chicken hens, 4 African white guinea hens and one female Chinese goose arrived safely at the sanctuary and are currently under observation and medical treatment in medical quarantine, where they'll be for about 2 weeks before joining the other birds. Ryan the goose will have a new friend! Thank you Charles County for taking action and partnering to find them homes. Shout out to our amazing volunteers who worked hard to prepare the quarantine building for their arrival and transporting the birds from Maryland!
