Update: Sadly, Bentley did not make it. This is absolutely heartbreaking after all the loss Jess and Brad have already suffered. 🐾💔🐾💔🐾

“Fight HARD Bentley, Bent-biscuit. 💔 I am praying that our boy makes it. He is the last kiddo from our pack and we are devastated. When Bentley left out of the ER the first time, he should not have. 😔 we had him home for two nights and questioned so much but also knew he had been under a strong anesthesia, he now, sadly, has pneumonia. This comes on top of him already struggling with smoke inhalation.

Over yesterday, Bentley would seem more off as the day wound to evening. By last night we were concerned but still felt it could be the anesthesia. This morning was scary as HELL. 😭 We need our boy……

He woke up and was very wonky, lifting his left leg, head tilt and staring at walls. Just so confused. Heartbroken, we called Lex and asked her to take him back. Once in her car he would have a seizure. Arriving at the first ER vet, it did not seem promising. We were told he had no feeling in his face…… they recommended we could take him to an advanced ER setting for an MRI and further evaluation. The girls went right to work and got him in to Partner Veterinary in Frederick MD. The team would get him there and Amelia & Brad would meet them.

♥️ THANK YOU HUGELY to everyone donating to his care, we have already paid the low end of $6,632, with a high end of $10,000 & he may still need an MRI, which is not included in this price. Overnight Bentley will be on a treatment plan for pnuemonia, in the morning they will see how he has progressed and then if needed, they will proceed with the MRI. PLEASE PRAY, so hard. For us, for the medical team and for our boy. To everyone helping us through this time, thank you. We need so many prayers, the hits just keep coming….. We would also confirm today, we lost our boy, Margarets brother, Mordekai. 🌈 🕊 🐾

🐶 Our daycare attendees are now able to take advantage of the Sniffari Yard during their visit with us! One of our attendants will spend time with your pup searching for hidden (and some not so hidden) smells throughout the yard. There is an additional fee for this service, reserve at drop off!

🪴You may also reserve just the Sniffari Yard Monday - Friday!! You will be able to accompany your dog through our private yard separate from the daycare yard and daycare dogs. To learn more and reserve a time, visit the link below!!

🐾 We’re excited to announce our new Sniffari Yard!! What is a Sniffari Yard? It is an opportunity for you and your dog to explore different smells and use their brain to find treats hidden in a private yard just for them.

🪴Check out the various dog safe plants hanging around the yard. Perhaps you’ll find a favorite to grow at home!

🫙Ever wanted to try scentwork? There are tins hidden with the scent of grouse (yes, the bird) for your dog to find.

🦴Choose a treat from three different options placed in and under objects for your dog’s enjoyment!

The Sniffari Yard is currently only available through our Sniffspot reservation booking for an additional fee. What is Sniffspot? Sniffspot is a private yard rental site for dogs. The Doggie Depot has been a Sniffspot site since 2018. And share with your friends who may avoid taking their dogs to the vet because of cost, unfortunately we have all of these illnesses in our area 😔

Poor Hank, thank you Nikita for being a donor!

Today, we share a different kind of success story—one of resilience, bravery, and love.

Hank (we have no image to share of Hank), a courageous canine, along with his family, faced illness with hope. Thanks to the heroic act of Nikita, a blood donor, Hank received a life-saving emergency transfusion and surgery in the hope of extending his life in the face of horrific illness diagnosis.

Sadly, Hank’s illness was too great to overcome, and he passed within weeks of his surgery.

Nikita's selfless gift not only gave Hank's family precious moments together with him but also comfort during a difficult time. The family was able to say their goodbyes and cherish their final moments together.

Though Hank's time was short, his legacy lives on, reminding us of the importance of blood donation in veterinary medicine. We honor Nikita, whose generosity and compassion continues to make a difference in the lives of canines and the families who love them. 🐾

We only had the one upper respiratory case back in January, and no other cases. We appreciate your patience and understanding as to why we took these precautions. The safety of your loved ones are our number one priority. We work diligently to maintain a safe and clean environment. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for your loved ones.🐾🐾

Due to several employees being ill, we unfortunately need to close early on Monday, March 4th and Tuesday, March 5th at 4:30pm. We apologize greatly for any inconvenience this causes, we are trying to balance the needs of our clients while also ensuring the safety and health of both the dogs and our employees who are able to work. Again, we are very sorry we need to close early, but are expecting to be open regular hours on Wednesday, March 6th. We are still expecting to hold the NAVBB blood drive on Tuesday, March 5th. Thank you for understanding, as a small business we try to accommodate everyone, and sometimes have to make hard decisions that not everyone likes.

You'll see an individual photo of your pup, fun photos of your dog playing with their friends, and pages of special events throughout the year😁! And don't forget, there will extra pages for your dogs to get their friends pawtographs!
