Ear Mites
🐾 How Are Ear Mites Contracted?
Ear mites are highly contagious and spread through direct contact with other animals, such as during playtime or snuggling. Pets can also pick them up from contaminated bedding or environments where infected animals have been.
🐾 How to Prevent Them:
Keep your pet’s environment clean and free of debris.
Avoid close contact with animals that may be infected.
Regularly check your pet’s ears and clean them as needed.
Use veterinarian-approved preventatives, especially if your pet is around other animals frequently.
If you suspect your pet might have ear mites, don't wait—call us to schedule an exam! We’ll help get your furry friend back to feeling their best.

🐾Protect Your Pets from Heartworms! 🐾
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition, but the good news is that it’s entirely preventable with consistent care! 💕
How are heartworms transmitted?
Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes. When a mosquito bites an infected animal, it picks up microscopic baby heartworms (microfilaria). These develop into infective larvae in the mosquito and are transmitted to the next pet the mosquito bites. Once inside your pet, the larvae grow into adult heartworms, which can cause severe damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
The heartworm lifecycle:
A mosquito bites an infected animal and ingests microfilaria.
Microfilaria mature into infective larvae inside the mosquito (over 10-14 days).
The mosquito transmits the infective larvae to another pet through a bite.
The larvae mature into adult heartworms over 6-7 months and begin reproducing, completing the cycle.
Did you know? Even pets on prevention need annual heartworm testing. Why? Early detection saves lives, and regular testing ensures your pet stays protected year-round. 🩺

🐾 Is Your Pet Scratching? It Could Be Ear Mites! 🐾
Ear mites are tiny pests that can cause itching, head shaking, and even infections in dogs and cats. 🦠 Left untreated, they can lead to more serious ear issues and discomfort for your pet.
Watch for these signs:
Excessive scratching or head shaking
Dark, crusty debris in the ears
Inflammation or redness around the ear canal
If your furry friend is showing any of these symptoms, it’s time for a vet check! Regular check-ups and early treatment can prevent ear mites from becoming a bigger problem.
