Spectacular day for an LVDA show at the stunning Rhythmandbluesequestriancenter! Elizabeth Pepper and Pella delivered a remarkable First 3 Test, capturing 🥈place with 65% score. Sara Witt and Myles had a fluid warm-up, but there are some areas to refine in the show arena. Nevertheless, they're moving in the right direction with determination! I'm thrilled to see these teams excel and grow over the past year, it's been an honor to guide them. 🌻🔥

Wonderful show outing at the stunning Red Tail Farm!
Shannon Paul Milligan and Shiloh made a solid Fourth Level debut with a 66%🎊🌻

Lotus and I rode the PSG with a 64% with some things to tidy up for the next show!

Yesterday at Bucks County Horse Park was stellar for HJS crew🔥
Rylan Kresge is a newly minted USDF Bronze Medalist, after piloting Houston to a 65% at Third Level 2🥂🌻
Elizabeth Pepper comfortably qualified for regionals with a 70% at Training 3, and 67% at First 3, with some lovely moments🎊❤️

Super riding by Zoey and Lucy at Sterling Hills Lehigh Valley Dressage Association show today!
Lucy had a challenging first ride with some spooky moments, but came back next test with a 66%🥈 and qualifying for Championships!
Zoey was leading high score for the day with a 76% 🥇first test and 66%🥈for Training 1.

📚 USDF is pleased to announce the launch of the new USDF Book Club, the latest program in a long list of education initiatives and opportunities created and offered by USDF. By participating in the USDF Book Club, members will be introduced to the published works of some of the industry’s top authors and professionals.

📅 USDF will announce the book schedule for the year in December of the year before – 4 books per year, with a quarterly discussion schedule

📖 2024 books: ‘Riding Through’ by Debbie McDonald (July – September), and ‘Dressage for the Not-So-Perfect Horse’ by Janet Foy (October – December)

🙋‍♀️Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the authors during Q&A sessions with the The Dressage Radio Show podcast and through webinars.

👩‍🎓 Opportunities to earn USDF University education credits via webinar attendance, quizzes, and submissions of “keywords” provided in Dressage Radio Show podcast episodes.

🏆 GMO and Regional awards will be available based on member participation.

Advanced Camp is a wrap!
What an awesome 3 Day intensive learning session for our students! So grateful for our guest speakers who advanced our knowledge on saddle fit with Forward Motion Equine; dentistry with Diane Frack; toxic plants with Donna Foulk from Penn State Ag.; veterinary care with Cross River Veterinary Service ; Equine chiropractic and acupuncture with Dr. Meg Pittenger, DVM - Integrated Equine Veterinary Service and performance psychology with recent Centenary University Equestrian Center grad Elizabeth Pepper.
After all that, we left time for the most fun part- intensive riding drills and had a great time!

Looking for help Monday through Fridays. More days possible as needed during show season.
Responsibilities include daily chores of stall cleaning & turnouts and turnins; some light general barn maintenance as necessary, such as sweeping tack rooms, cleaning water tanks, removing cobwebs, & keeping an overall tidy appearance of barn.
Long term employment goal preferred. A relaxed, drama free, & friendly barn looking for positive individual.
Must be reliable, have own transportation, be able to lift 50 lbs and experience handling horses or livestock. May be willing to train a motivated individual.

NEW UPDATE: 611 South is closed at Route 32 for the day. It should be fully open beginning tomorrow - June 13th.

ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE: If you are coming from Milford, you should take the Merenstein Hill left turn after the bridge. If you are coming from 412 South, you can turn left onto Church Road and then go South on 611 at the light to the horse park. The road closure is supposed to be 9 am to 3 pm.

Two important notes for this week! There was a misprint in the annual program. There is NO TMHS this week. First one is June 13th. Also, TEDS competitors please plan extra travel time. 611 will be closed between 212 and 412. Routes from Milford or Hellertown should be unaffected but coming through Easton will hit a detour.

Several of our followers alerted us to an untrue post circling social media right now. The post states that if a porcupine has more than one baby, they will “cast the second born out, no matter what.”

It also states “They almost never leave their young on the ground alone”

This is very untrue. Porcupines rarely have more than one baby at a time, but on occasion they do. There is no proof that they cast the second baby out.

Porcupettes often wait at the bottom of trees for their mothers, when she is foraging higher up in the tree. Do not assume a porcupette found alone at the base of a tree is abandoned.

Posts like this gain a lot of attention and misinformation spreads quickly. It encourages well intentioned individuals to do things they think are helping but will cause great stress to the baby and incredible heartache for the mother.

To further disprove this, please observe the picture below. This was a mother porcupine that raised two babies. The second one wasn’t even hers. She adopted it when it was orphaned and raised the little one as her own.

The original post with misinformation was shared 35,000 times. We have some catching up to do to correct this. Please spread this post around so we can prevent the kidnapping of porcupettes from very loving and devoted mothers.
