So thrilled to have placed 8th in the 2nd level Open Region 3 Dressage Championships with Rad on a 65.5%! Rad gave me his best and showed a Thoroughbred event horse can dance in the sand box with the best of them! Thank you so much Lauren Eckardt for all your time and work spent getting us here, we appreciate you so very much!!
I also want to thank County Saddlery- Georgia for your support of my program, I love my County saddles!

Tomorrow we will compete in the 1st level Open Championships! 🤞

We had a great weekend at The Good Horseman Foundation’s Summer Dressage Show with 5 horses. All achieved top placings and regionals qualifying scores! Team Chizek comprised of Deb Cosby, Trudi Franzel, and April Rock placed 2nd in the Adult Amateur/JR-YR Team Championship! Military Tradition earned the TIP award for highest scoring Thoroughbred. A huge thank you to Russell Thompson for all your work behind the scenes making our horses shine!

All 5 horses love their County saddles from County Saddlery- Georgia! I am always grateful for their support of my program!

The team had a great show at the CEDA Spring into Dressage Show at Horse Tales Stables! Josephine Stanley, April Rock, and Deb Cosby all moved up to First level with fantastic scores! Trudi Franzel earned AA High Point with her boy Stevie on a 72%!!
I got the opportunity to show Trudi’s new guy Ziggy and he won high score of the show on a 75% in Training 1 and a 73% in Training 3! So excited for the future with this lovely guy 🥰

We had a fantastic first outing of the year for the dressage horses at the CEDA show hosted by FCS Equestrian Center.

⭐️ Josie Stanley who hasn’t showed in 8 years WON her first class on a 69% in Training 1!

⭐️ Trudi Ann Franzel was right behind Josephine in Training 1 to place 2nd! Trudi also placed 2nd in Intro C!

⭐️ April Rock’s Lexus won Second level test 1 on a 74%, also earning high point for Second level with Elisabeth!! April also showed Lexus in Training level test 3 and scored a 62.5 to place 6th in a large class.

⭐️ Denali owned by Lisa Ward showed for the first time on US soil! Despite warming up in a deluge complete with small hail and showing in a slick grass ring Denali won First level test 3 on a 66.1%!

Thank you to everyone at FCS Equestrian Center and the Coastal Empire Dressage Association for all your hard work putting on a great show!

We had a great weekend with 6 horses at the USDF Region 3 Dressage Championships! The horses gave us their best and it was incredible to see their progress from the beginning of the year until now! Military Tradition had a top 10 placing (9th) in the Open Training level Championships and Stevie’s Joy owned by Trudi Franzel was just behind him in 11th! Both horses had lovely performances and we are thrilled with how these Thoroughbreds placed against purpose bred dressage horses.

Pandora owned by Nancy Bissen was also in the top 10 (9th) in the First Level Open Championships out of 30+ horses!

Our Training level AA Championship riders April Rock on Lexus and Brittany Poole on Taxbreak both had great tests that demonstrated their progress from the beginning of the year!

We are so excited to host our clinic with USDF gold medalist and Advanced level event rider Lauren Eckardt at Trot Time Farm this weekend! Saturday will be 9:00-4:30 and Sunday 8:00-5:00. Bring a chair and pack a lunch! Auditors welcome for a $25 fee.

The team had a great weekend at WEC! Trudi Franzel and Fox in Socks won 3 of their Intro classes and was second in the 4th with scores in the 70’s! Stevie’s Joy also owned by Trudi made the move up to First level and saw a huge improvement in relaxation and focus from Friday to Saturday! He came home with a 3rd and 6th place in a very large open 1-3 division. April Rock continued practicing their T-3 test and placed 3rd on Saturday on a 68%! Cantitus Z owned by Steve Rock won his 3-2 class and earned his remaining qualifying score for regionals at Second level placing 2nd and 6th in 2-3.

Mark your calendars! LC Eventing & Dressage is honored to host a clinic with Lauren Eckardt of Bigtime Eventing Oct 1st and 2nd at Trot Time Farm in Brooklet, GA.

Lauren Eckardt is a wife and mother of two, who has ridden at the Advanced Level of Eventing, earned her Gold Medal in Dressage, competed on the NAYRC Three Star Team, long-listed for the 2004 Olympics, and has won numerous AEC titles and championships. She started riding at age 6 in Montgomery, AL, and worked her way up through the levels while attending the University of Georgia. After college, she worked in corporate America at Ameriprise Financial for five years until she founded Bigtime Eventing in 2008. Successful, safe, and fun competitions are the goals of every rider, and Lauren’s as well. She is constantly seeking to improve her own skills as well as those of her students and her horses. This is attributed to exercising the highest degree of horsemanship in every aspect of her barn, as well as having an amazing team of the best professionals, both local and national, in the industry.

We had a lovely weekend at the GHF show in Conyers with the “Z” boys: Lexus and Titus. April and Lexus continued their work at Training Level and made great improvement from their Saturday test to the Sunday test. Titus won all 4 of his classes in 2nd-3 and 3rd-1. He earned his first qualifying score at Second level with a 64.6% despite a pilot error! Titus also helped me finally get around to earning the first 3rd level score towards my bronze!

We had a lovely day at the CEDA show at Horse Tales! While we were disappointed to scratch two horses due to minor issues (they will be just fine) Trudi Ann Franzel rode her two horses Stevie’s Joy and Fox in Socks 🦊 in the Intro division. Fox in Socks won both Intro A and B with scores in the mid 70’s! We were excited for his return to the show ring after taking the winter off due to an injury. Stevie’s Joy was right behind his “brother” with two red ribbons and a 72% and a 67%. Trudi did a great job for her first time ever showing Stevie! She also placed 2nd in the W/T dressage equitation.

The team had another great weekend showing at Poplar Place Spring Dressage I & II! Nancy Bissen’s Pandora stepped up to Second level for the first time and still managed to win all her classes and high score for the level. Trudi Ann Franzel’s Stevie’s Joy earned his last qualifying score for regionals at Training level., high score for Training with a 71% as well as the TIP award for Training. April Rock and Lexus also won both of their classes as well as high score amateur for Training level. They earned their last qualifying score for regionals at Training level in addition to making huge improvements in their scores from the last show! Military Tradition stepped up to first level and maintained great scores in the upper 60’s placing 1, 2, and 3 in large classes. He also brought home the TIP high score for first level.

We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather or a better run show! Huge thank you to Josephine Stanley our groom for keeping us on track and even last minute unplanned test reading! I couldn’t do it without you! Thank you Poplar Place for having us!

I don’t even know where to begin describing what a fairytale weekend the team had at Dressage on the First Coast at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center! The weather was great and we really enjoyed the venue. All horses and riders earned qualifying scores for their level on Saturday! Nancy Bissen’s Pandora earned first level High Point on Saturday and topped that with a 74% in test 3 on Sunday! Stevie’s Joy owned by Ann Franzel made a huge improvement since his last outing to earn Training level reserve High Point on Saturday. April Rock and her own Lexus made their debut at their first USDF show with great scores at Training level. Military Tradition rounded out the group placing first and second in Training tests 1 and 3 on Saturday and 3rd place in Training 3 on Sunday. Josephine Stanley did an amazing job grooming for us and making sure the horses were turned out to the nine’s!

Just now getting around to posting about the I Love Dressage show at Stable View last weekend! We brought 4 horses who all debuted at their first rated dressage show! Brittany Poole and Taxbreak saw huge improvement in Training level test 3, earning a 4th place on Saturday and a 2nd place on a 66.4% on Sunday! Trudi Franzel’s Stevie’s Joy earned 2nd place and 5th place in Training level 1 and 3 on Saturday and another 5th place on Sunday with scores in the mid 60’s.
Military Tradition placed 1st and 3rd on Saturday in Training level tests 1 and 3. On Sunday he placed 2nd on a 70% in training 3 to earn the high point TIP award! Nancy Bissen’s Pandora earned three 2nd place ribbons for her efforts in First level tests 1 and 3 over the weekend with scores in the upper 60’s!

As always we couldn’t do it without groom extraordinaire Julienne Donaldson keeping us on track behind the scenes!

We had a great start to the 2022 show season at the first FCS jumper show! We couldn’t have asked for better weather and Justyne and crew put on a great organized show! Trudi Franzel’s Stevie had 3 nice trips around the crossrails for his first time doing a course at a show. Nancy Bissen’s Pandorra also had 3 great trips to earn reserve champion in crossrails. Shelby Horne stepped up to the 2’-2’3” division for the first time with Reggie and placed 4th in 2 classes! Cate Martin with her mare Sammy brought home Champion for the 2’-2’3” division! Jamie Goss and Wilson had lovely rounds and they also earned reserve champion in the 2’6”-2’9” division. Great job everyone!

OTTB Stevie had a lovely first jump school today! We have been working on developing his flat work but today was a great day for him to start learning how to jump! Thank you Trudi Ann Franzel for trusting me with your special guy 🥰

I am so happy to announce LC Eventing has finally found a home at Trot Time Farm in Brooklet, GA! Tonya and Rick have a lovely facility and take fabulous care of the horses! I have limited availability for lessons and training!
