🐕 Cool Weather Tips for Florida Pets:

- Bundle Up: Short-haired or small pets might need a light sweater on brisk mornings or evenings.

- Paw Care: Even in Florida, dry or cracked paws can happen—use a pet-safe balm for protection.

- Warm & Cozy: Provide a comfy spot indoors, away from drafts, for those cooler nights.

- Hydration is Key: Dry air can still sneak in—keep your pet’s water bowl full and fresh!

Our senior pets need a little extra care to stay healthy and enjoy their golden years! Regular veterinary check-ups can help catch issues early and keep your furry friend feeling their best. Here’s how:

• Nu.Q Cancer Screening helps detect up to 7 types of cancers, so we can start treatment early if needed.

• The Senior Profile Panel includes comprehensive bloodwork and a urinalysis to monitor overall health.

• ProBNP Testing is great for detecting early heart disease and monitoring heart health, so your pet can keep those tails wagging! ❤️

If your pet is 7 years or older, it’s time to start making these check-ups a regular habit! Book their senior wellness exam with Golden Heart Veterinary Care and give them the best care they deserve. 🐶🐱

Did you know that some of our favorite snacks can be harmful—even dangerous—for our pets? This Safety Sunday, let’s go over some common toxic foods to keep far away from those curious paws and whiskers:

• Chocolate 🍫 – Contains theobromine, which can be toxic to dogs and cats, causing vomiting, diarrhea, and even heart problems.

• Grapes & Raisins 🍇 – A surprising danger! Just a few can lead to kidney failure in dogs.

• Onions & Garlic 🧄 – Found in many dishes, but can cause anemia and other health issues in pets.

• Avocado 🥑 – Delicious for us, but it contains persin, which can upset your pet’s stomach and even cause heart issues.

• Alcohol & Caffeine ☕🍷 – Both can be extremely toxic, affecting your pet’s heart and nervous system.

Keeping these treats out of reach helps avoid emergencies and keeps your pet happy and healthy! If you’re ever unsure about a food, feel free to contact us at Golden Heart Veterinary Care—we’re here to help you make the best choices for your furry family!

Did you know that spaying or neutering your pet isn’t just about preventing litters? It’s a key step to a healthier, happier life! Spayed and neutered pets are less likely to face certain cancers and infections, and they’re more content at home (goodbye, wandering tendencies!). Plus, it’s an amazing way to reduce the number of pets in shelters, giving every furry friend a better chance at a loving home. 💖

As we celebrate this spooky season, let's make sure our furry friends stay safe and happy! Here are some Halloween safety tips to keep in mind:

🍬 Candy and Chocolate Toxicity:
Many Halloween treats can be toxic to pets, including chocolate, gummies, candy corn, hard candies, raisins, and grapes. Make sure to keep all human treats out of reach of your pets! If your pet accidentally ingests something they shouldn’t, don’t hesitate to give us a call at Golden Heart Veterinary Care (407) 392-1888.

🐾 Trick-or-Treating with Pets:
If your pet is joining you for trick-or-treating, make sure their ID tag and microchip information are up to date. It’s always best to keep your furry companion on a leash and away from doorways with lots of activity to avoid any spooks!

🏡 Staying Home:
Leaving your pet at home? Provide them with a quiet space to relax away from the noise of trick-or-treaters. A calm environment can help reduce stress during the festivities.

Let’s all have a fun and safe Halloween while keeping our pets out of harm’s way! 🎃🐶👻

Ever wondered how we take such great care of your pets? It’s all thanks to the staff and our state-of-the-art equipment we use every day to keep them healthy and happy! 🐕🐈 Let’s take a closer look at some of the incredible tools we rely on:

🖥️ CT Scans: Our CT technology allows us to get detailed images of your pet's internal structures. From diagnosing complex conditions to planning surgeries, CT scans give us the precise information we need.

🦠 Ultrasound: Non-invasive and super effective, ultrasound helps us monitor organs and check for any abnormalities in real-time—whether it’s a pregnancy check or a routine examination.

📸 X-Rays: X-rays are our go-to for spotting fractures, dental issues, or detecting foreign objects. It’s a quick and safe way to see what’s going on beneath the surface.

At Golden Heart, we’re committed to providing the best possible care by using the latest technology available. Because your pet deserves nothing less than the best! ❤️
