It's National Farriers Week! Let's celebrate the hard work that our farriers put in daily to partner with equine veterinarians and ensure the health and well-being of our horses. Proper hoof care is essential for a sound and happy horse, so it goes without saying that a skilled farrier is both a necessity and a tremendous asset.

Don't forget to give a shoutout to your farriers this week and show them your appreciation for their dedication to their craft!

ITS A HOT ONE!

Please be patient this week guys with your farriers! They are out there in this weather 8, 12hrs a day, 6 days a week. With little to no break.

If you do not have an airy barn with a fan, it is appropriate to reschedule if needed in this heat. Shoeing horses in a full sun driveway in this weather is not fun for the farrier or the horse!

Your horses are going to be grumpy and your farriers will be sweaty! A cold Gatorade or popsicle can go a long way! Haha

Make sure y’all request that Ed bring his new shoeing dog to your appt with him! 😉

Rebel is ready to roll as the apprentice farrier. He may end up mostly napping on the job however. It’s hard to find good help now.

We did have a few appt cancellations this week due to various horse health situations. (That time of year sadly :/)

2024 Policy Updates:

There will be a $20 fee each time we need to catch your horse in the paddock or halter in the stall, unless previously arranged with Ed!

Clients who do not pay on the day of their appt will not be rescheduled. Obviously a few hour leeway is fine. If you are having a tough week financially, rescheduling is also totally understandable. We get it.

Ed is exceedingly patient and lenient with these policies but they are consistently taken advantage of. He will go out of his way to help you or accommodate what you need within reason.
