Meet Ping Pong
Ping Pong was found on the streets of Hartford with a nasty wound. We patched him up and he's good as new. He specializes in supervising. He will sit on your paperwork, lean on your writing hand, and yell at you for no discernable reason. He doesn't like being picked up and has opinions regarding his personal space. That is, it's OK for him to invade yours, but there are vague rules about you invading his. In short, he's quirky but super sociable with his people. Must. Be. Near. We think he's about two and he really would prefer to be the only pet but could live with another feline friend. He's now neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & negative for FeLV/FIV. She's about five and had the perfect home but didn't want any catly competition. She is on an allergy diet that will need to be maintained, but she eats like a little bird so she doesn't go through a lot. Meet Sweet Cheeks
Sweet Cheeks has serious bedroom eyes. Look at that face. He's a loveable, affable young adult who was trapped in a feral colony and quickly informed us that he was, in fact, quite domestic. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for FeLV/FIV. He loves to get cozy and is OK with most cats but can be a bully with submissive or insecure cats. Super friendly big boi. Yuuki came to us emaciated, in need of proper care to gain some healthy weight and in need of a forever home.

Background: Yuuki came to us from the Hartford pound. They found him abandoned in a van for an indeterminate amount of time.
Current Description: Yuuki got his new name because it means courage. He will question brand new people until they give him a cookie, which is understandable given where his life began. But after he takes a second to get to know you he turns into the regular clingy shepherd he is meant to be. He absolutely loves his people that he makes friends with, he has been eating well including lunch to help get his weight up.
Yuuki had a bath his first night with us and was a very good boy.
Type of home they would need now: He needs a family that will take the time to get to know him and put some time into training, he isn't bad about anything but being an adolescent shepherd he will need a clear understanding of what is expected from him. He wants to be near his human constantly and he is active and playful.
Special Needs: just a skinny boy slowly gaining muscle and strength!
Energy level: medium to high. He loves to play and run but he does settle nicely and chew on toys.
Favorite things to do: be with his human, eat, wrestling with his foster dog friends, play tug of war, chew on toys
Commands: working on sit so far. He's eager and willing to learn
Dogs: yes!
Cats: yes, he has been respectfully curious about the cats
Kids: he met older kids when he was at the pound and did okay
House-trained: so far he's good
Crate-trained: yes
Vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested: he is vaccinated and will be neutered, microchipped and tested before leaving.

We want to introduce one of our newest intakes who is looking for your support through donations! Meet Itty Bitty, she is sweet as pie, tiny, and has a lot of gusto! We aren't sure of how she got this way but, Itty Bitty was found with what appeared to be a broken leg. Upon exam and x-rays, her humerus was broken, had shifted, and started to calcifiy. She underwent surgery to clean up, reposition, and pin and plate the limb with screws. She is out of surgery hanging with her foster on crate rest while she works on healing and slowly starting to reuse her limb.
