How is HamBone still here? I mean look at this good boy at our adoption event!
Ham is a young dog, he loves to learn, he knows basic obedience and leash skills. Heavily food motivated. He loves other dogs and people...just not kitties. He does well in a crate and clearly has a fun time going to shops and meeting new folks 😅 Though he can sit and chill he does love a good home or romo around and playtime. This pup has been with us almost an ENTIRE YEAR 😱

🐾 Available for Adoption🐾
This handsome dude is Cowboy, he was dumped in the town of West Hartford and we were contacted by West Hartford Animal Control to see if we would be willing to meet him and give him a second chance!
He is a young, strong dog that has a super sweet side. We are working on getting his pent up energy out and teaching him simple manners. He is getting used to having dog friends and figuring out where he fits in a pack.
As of right now he would do best in a home as an only dog or possibly with a confident female dog.
He's a very smart boy that would benefit from a new owner who would take him to training classes since he seems to come from a background with no boundaries or structure but we are starting to work on that with him!
-we will update as he adjusts more and we get to know him better!

Meet Winston!
Name: Winston
Age: roughly 12-13.5 years
Size: small, but needing to lose a little weight.

Winston is a sweet guy looking for a quiet home where he can take walks and spend time with his human on his own terms as he is a pretty quirky old man. He has trust issues but once you gain his trust he’s a very loyal and loving dog, he requires patience and understanding that he is a bit chubby and arthritic.
He does not like to be surprised and will nip if he is startled, so taking it slow will be very important until you gain and secure his trust.
He loves to take walks! They may not be long but he enjoys them!
Winston does not like children or boisterous dogs, we do not know about cats.
His arthritic body prefers he not be picked up or overly handled.
Winston is a senior boy, he will have an occasional accident in the house if his subtle messages go unnoticed.

He is on Medication:
Carprofen for arthritis
TrizEDTA Aqueous Flush – ear wash (currently)

Meet Paris!
Paris came to us with kittens after being abandoned in an apartment complex. Her kittens have found homes and now it's her turn. She is beautiful, soft and loving, and occasionally naughty, and she loves to sit in your lap. She has gorgeous ear tufts that curl! She has a funky leg from an old broken femur that never received medical attention but it's not painful, it just makes her walk a little funny.(at this time the vet advised to leave it) She can jump up on things like a champ. She tolerates the other cats in our social room though she'd like to be the princess. She's probably about a year and a half-2 years old and would love to be your one and only. Email [email protected] for an application!

FOWAS is now CATS (& Dogs) Northeast Volunteer Team!

We have changed our name and would like to let everyone know why!

Our journey as FOWAS started with the goal of helping the dogs from Windham Animal Control and the cats from CATS Northeast find furever homes through social media advertising. However, as is what happens on life’s journeys, our mission has grown and evolved. Over the past few years, we’ve helped hundreds of dogs and cats find new loving furever homes and fostered dozens of medical recovery cases.

The rescue we help is CATS Northeast, but as there is a growing need throughout CT, we’ve started receiving calls for help from other towns in the state. Our objective of helping the town of Windham has expanded to helping animal control officers throughout the state. These animals come to us through many different paths, such as strays, owner surrenders, and pulling animals in need from different pounds in the state. We have even taken many pets that were originally adopted from different rescue organizations that have refused to take their animals back.

We are a group of volunteers who help the lives of dogs and cats in need through CATS Northeast inc.

CATS Northeast inc. is a 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is Cats Assisted Through Spay/Neuter.

Our first goal in rescue is to provide proper medical care for the cats and dogs that come in through grants and donations. Our adoption fees cover the necessary vetting for a cat or dog to be able to start their new life on the right paw. We always spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinate, and heartworm test, as well as an FIV/FeLV test for cats and 4DX test for dogs. Many pets also receive additional vetting as needed, but that is never reflected in an adoption fee. We have funded the repair of a broken humerus on a young cat that was found hit by a car, and also funded a salivary gland surgery on a dog, among many other projects.

Our second goal is to place cats and dogs in homes that are the best match for the pet and owner. We assist beyond the adoption, serving as a resource for advice and support throughout the lives of the pets we adopt into loving families.

We’re more than just serving the Windham community. We’re dedicated to serving as many cats and dogs in Connecticut as we can. We are the CATS (& Dogs) Northeast Volunteer Team.
Our updated email address is: [email protected]
But don't worry our old email will still push to our new one.
