Mochi is a sassy, no-nonsense cat with a love for independence. Mochi was a stray and for two years, she thrived as an indoor/outdoor cat with her personal feeder (a dedicated human who had the honor of petting her without complaint).

Unfortunately, her feeder moved and couldn’t take her along, leaving Mochi in search of a new home where she can shine.

Shelter life in a crate? Definitely not Mochi’s style. This free-spirited queen would much prefer a home where she can explore, settle in at her own pace, and decide when it’s time for attention (on her terms, of course).

Mochi would do best with a patient, experienced cat owner who understands the art of building trust. Give her time and space, and you’ll have a loyal companion who knows how to keep life interesting.

Think you’re ready to welcome this confident, independent feline into your life? Mochi is waiting for her next chapter—apply today to meet her! 😺 https://www.ctcatconnection.org/adoption-application

*Update - Adopted!*

Meet Sly!

Sly is a charming and social cat with a bold personality and a touch of sass. This outgoing guy loves being the center of attention and is always ready to explore his surroundings.

He’s not shy about expressing his feelings—whether it’s a “snuggle with me now” moment or a “not now, I’m busy” mood (we all have those days, right?). Sly’s playful side shines with his favorite toys, including crinkle balls, jingly bell toys, and feather sticks.

Sly likes to be top cat and isn’t afraid to let his caregivers know when he’s feeling a bit jealous of the attention given to other cats. He’s happiest when he’s your #1.

If you’re looking for a lively, entertaining companion with a big personality, Sly might be your perfect match!

Please send healing thoughts and energy to Titus, one of our newest arrivals. This sweet girl endured an unimaginable ordeal, left alone in an apartment for nearly four weeks. She survived by drinking toilet water and, in her desperation, even consumed a hair tie (which, fortunately, she managed to pass).

Our vet tech has evaluated her, and she’s now being fed small, frequent meals. Sadly, she has developed a heart condition, likely due to the effects of prolonged starvation. She’ll be seeing our shelter vet soon for further care.

UPDATE: OH MY GOSH!!

We posted roughly 2 hours ago. In that time, you've bought out nearly all the wet food on our Amazon Wishlist in addition to some other needed goodies for the cats!

For context, we are talking almost 5,000 cans of food (165 cases) and roughly 20 bags of kitten kibble (the numbers are adding up as I write!)

I truly can't believe it!!! We are NO RISK of running out of food now! We just have to find somewhere to put it!

Thank you to each and every one of you, and thanks in advance to the Amazon driver tasked with our deliveries this weekend. 😂

🚨Urgent: Cat food needed ASAP 🚨

We are down to just a few boxes of cat food, maybe enough to last until Sunday, and we have a full house at the shelter and cats waiting to come in!

If you are able to donate a box of food it would mean the world to us! We are most in need of cases of Friskies wet cat food as that is the standard food each cat gets.

Drop offs are welcome between 5-7 on weekdays or 12-3 on weekends, or you can order via our Amazon Wishlist at bit.ly/CCCNeeds ♥️

🎉 We’re Open for Adoptions Today from 12–3 PM! 🎉

We’re thrilled to be nearing 100 adoptions this December, but we’re especially hoping to find forever homes for some of our incredible adult cats!

While kittens have been stealing the show, our adult cats—like Buffy, pictured here—are just as deserving of love and companionship.

Stop by today to meet Buffy and many other wonderful adult cats waiting to become your new best friend! ❤️ 🐾

About Buffy:
Buffy knows exactly what she wants - to be your one and only! Our girl is the one in charge and it's best that everyone knows it. Now, she's not ALL sass, she's also happy to climb into your lap and give you a kiss on the chin before settling in for a nap. This girl just wants a home to call her own and someone to give her pets (when she wants them)! Buffy would do best as a only cat in a home without young kids.

A Windsor resident Jessica got quite a surprise last week! Her rescue dog Wilhelmina was running around outside when she came back carrying something in her mouth.

At first, Jessica thought her pup had dragged home a squirrel, but instead, Wilhelmina gently placed a very alive kitten at her feet. Before she could even process what was happening, Wilhelmina dashed back to the woods, returning with another kitten... then another... and then another.

These four tiny furballs, covered in mud and with crusty little eyes, were in rough shape but alive and meowing for help. Jessica quickly scooped them up and brought them in. They are about 4-5 weeks old — just old enough to eat solid food.

Jessica and her family searched the neighborhood for the kittens’ mother but couldn’t find her. (Still on the lookout as we would love to take Mama cat in as well!)

Jessica reached out to us at CCC for help, and while it's a tough time to make more space - we couldn't turn these babies away!

Wihlemina is a hero dog, who was a rescue herself. Part Siberian Husky and part Pit Bull, her soft side came through loud and clear when she realized those kittens were in need.

We are grateful the kittens came to us safe and sound so we could provide the medical care they need, and get them comfortable in a foster home.

Thank you to Wihlemina and Jessica for being part of the kittens rescue story!

This , join us in making a difference—one life, one chance at a time.

Today we’re turning to the incredible supporters who make our mission possible. Cat Connection is more than an shelter—it’s a lifeline for over 700 cats every year on their journey to loving forever homes.

A few of the cats that really exemplify the work we do this year include:

Peaches, a beautiful girl who survived stab wounds, and lost her pregnancy. She recovered well and was quickly adopted into a loving home.

Ihop, a grumpy 3 legged cat who sat in the shelter for months before finding a foster home, ended up being adopted permanently by his foster parent!

Caramel Apple and Pinot came to us in 2021. They were adopted this November by someone who understands they may never be very social, but they can still be loved.

Paco, an FELV positive cat was dumped in a feral colony. He ended up being adopted by a great person who knows while he may not have as long a life as other cats, he still deserves a happy one!

You’ve helped us accomplish incredible things before, and with humble, grateful hearts, we’re asking for your support again this Giving Tuesday.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
Your gift is tax-deductible and may even qualify for your company’s matching gift program.

Let’s continue this vital work—together, we can give every cat the chance to find the home they deserve. ❤️

Time and time again you have shown us the power of community. Almost every successful fundraiser we do is not comprised of large donations – it’s every pitching in a little, doing what they comfortably can, that makes a difference.

Ways to help:
Donate Monetarily at: https://donorbox.org/holiday-giving-2024 or venmo or on this post!

We're kicking-off Giving Tuesday a day early this year in hopes of reaching even more people as they do their holiday shopping.

Every year around this time, I reflect on the moments that define our mission at Connecticut Cat Connection—the heartbreaks that remind us how much work there is to do, and the triumphs that show just how transformative time, love, and medical care can be for cats society has left behind.

Every day in our community, countless cats are homeless. They are pets that have been abandoned when their owners moved, left behind when they outgrew their kitten charm, or forgotten when their person—their whole world—passed away.

These cats are tired. They are hungry. They are scared.
But at Connecticut Cat Connection, we see them.

It’s easy to disconnect from that kind of sadness, to walk past without a second glance. But our volunteers choose to care. They choose compassion, patience, and kindness—even when it’s hard, even when it brings grief.

They choose to face the hard days, even when it brings heartache.
They trade lazy mornings for cleaning litter boxes.
They put filling bowls of kibble ahead of hurrying home for dinner.
They choose the cats..
But that dedication can only go so far without your support.

Your donations make this work possible—providing a safe shelter, lifesaving vet care, and bowls filled with food every day. Without you, none of this would happen.

So today, we’re asking you to choose the cats.
Choose to see them.
Choose to be part of our community of hope and healing.

Even $5 or $10 makes a difference.
Here’s how you can help:
Monetary Donations: https://donorbox.org/holiday-giving-2024 or on this post.

Our Story

Connecticut Cat Connection was started from a one person rescue in the 80’s by taking in one stray at a time, to working with other rescue organizations in the 2000’s, to expanding to its own organization under the name Cat Haven in 2003. Due to the increasing need to help more cats and the expense associated with any animal rescue, in 2007 the organization became a non-profit and officially changed its name to Connecticut Cat Connection. In October 2010, CCC expanded yet again and opened it’s first brick and mortar, street side Adoption Center in Windsor, CT, making their mission of “Finding ‘Forever Homes’ for every cat…”, a little bit easier. What began by taking in a few cats a year, to 100 cats a year, then upward of 200 cats a year in 2010, has now increased to approximately 400 cats a year. In 2011, CCC placed cats with approximately 213 families.

Over the years CCC estimates the shelter and it’s group of volunteers have rescued and re-placed over 500 cats. This is a tremendous success, however, it comes with much effort and comes high financial cost absorbing the high medical expenses associated with a no kill policy. In 2015, we moved to our new adoption center, this property will give us many opportunities to expand for the future and to better be able to house our kitties comfortably and stress-free!
