This is the official page of the Windsor, CT Animal Control Officer and Animal Shelter. New owners are responsible for obtaining necessary vaccinations and vet care from their own vet at their own expense. The adoption fee for animals that have not been spayed or neutered is $50.00, which includes the State of Connecticut Pet Population Program voucher. The voucher covers the spaying/neutering and

two shots for your adopted pet. We require the submission of an adoption application for any of our animals prior to setting up a meet and greet. Connecticut requires all dog owners to purchase an animal license for their pet. Licensing greatly assists in returning a lost pet to its home. A license is the primary identification for dogs and must be worn on the pet’s collar. Animal License fees are:

All Unspayed or unneutered Dogs $19.00
All Spayed or Neutered Dogs $8.00
Kennel License $52.00

Dog licenses can be obtained at the Windsor Town Clerks office located at 275 Broad Street. All dog licenses must be renewed in June of each year regardless of when the current license was purchased. All dogs have to be vaccinated for rabies before a license can be obtained. State Statute requires that all domestic dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies at three months of age. Anyone recognize this kitty?🐱
She was found at someone's back door on Portman St, looking for food. Very sweet, possibly about a year old, all black except for a small patch of white on the chest. Finder brought the kitty down to be checked for a microchip - no microchip found.

Calling all rescues- Sweetheart needs your help!❤

We are now seeking a rescue for Miss Sweetheart!

Unfortunately, she has been showing signs of much discomfort to her left hind leg, causing her to place no weight on that leg most of the time! We are looking to see if a rescue would be willing to take this very affectionate soul off our hands to get her more medical treatment than we can unfortunately afford. Other than the leg, she is in perfect health!

Starggles is looking for a new permanent home.

Unfortunately, her owner won't be able to take her with them and they are heartbroken about it. So, they are seeking out a new amazing home!!

Straggles is an amazingly friendly and outgoing 10 year old spayed female tortie cat. She has lived her life as an indoor/outdoor cat who comes running when visitors come to your home! She is litterbox trained and enjoys cuddles. We do not know how she is with dogs, but she has lived with other cats before and will need a slow introduction to feline roommates.

If unable to permanently keep Straggles, but willing to foster her while her owner seeks out a new home or rescue, they are willing to continue take on the responsibilities while she waits for her new forever home.

So sad - please call Windsor locks ACO with any information regarding this poor pup.

This beautiful little girl was found roaming in the area of 61 South Main Street, Windsor Locks, early this morning with a pink leash and no collar . She appears to have several injuries , and is currently being treated for same.

She looks to be a Pit/Mix, Fawn with white markings, Female, Younger.
