She has been at the pound for 10 long months—nearly half of her life. She’s about 2 years old, 60 pounds, and full of playful energy and love! She lives to run, chase toys, and explore. She’ll need durable chew toys to keep her entertained, or she may find her own things to chew on!

Sasha is housebroken, kennel trained, dog friendly (with proper introductions), playful, affectionate, and shy at first, but warms up quickly! She loves to jump so a secure fence is a must - preferably 6 ft tall. She is NOT a fan of cats!

Returning to the pound after being in a home is devastating for a dog. Sasha doesn’t understand why she lost her soft bed, her freedom to run, and the love of a family. She was already struggling with kennel stress, and now, it’s even harder on her.

Winter Weather Alert: Protect Your Pets!

Winter weather is here with bitterly cold temperatures. Please take steps now to keep your pets safe and warm during this harsh weather.

🐾 Bring Them Inside: Make plans to bring your pets indoors. Even a basement or garage will make a big difference in keeping them safe from the cold.

🐾 Dog Houses: If you must use a doghouse, ensure it is filled with straw, not hay. Straw repels moisture, traps heat and provides better insulation to keep pets warm and dry. Make sure that it is an adequate doghouse built for winter.

🐾 Limit Outdoor Time: Do not leave pets outside for long periods, especially elderly pets, short-haired breeds, or those more vulnerable to the cold. While breeds like huskies are more tolerant of cold weather, no pet should stay outside for extended periods in freezing conditions. ALL pets are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia, particularly on their ears, legs, feet, paws, and stomachs. Monitor them closely and limit exposure to the cold.

🐾 Fresh Water and Food: Ensure pets have access to fresh, unfrozen water and food daily to maintain their energy and warmth.

She spent time in a temporary foster home, and for a little while, she got to experience what every dog deserves—a warm bed, space to run, love, and companionship. But we couldn’t find a permanent foster or adopter in time, and now she’s back in her small kennel, wondering what went wrong.

Sasha has been at the pound for 10 long months—almost half of her life. She is about 2 years old, 60 pounds, and bursting with playful energy and love. This girl lives to run, play fetch, and explore! She enjoys toys, but she’ll need sturdy chew toys to keep her entertained—otherwise, she might find her own things to chew on!

Sasha is:

✔ Very affectionate and playful
✔ Shy at first, but warms up quickly

She can be a jumper, so a secure fence is a must—preferably 6 feet. And cats? Not her thing!

They don’t understand why they aren’t there anymore, why they’ve lost their comfy spot to sleep, their freedom to stretch out, and the constant companionship of people. For Sasha, who was already struggling with kennel stress, this transition is heartbreaking.

For her entire life, May May was trapped in a small kennel inside a house—never feeling the softness of grass beneath her paws, never knowing the warmth of the sun on her back, never experiencing the simple joys every dog deserves. Her world was cold and small, and it left her guarding the only thing she ever knew as "home." Her past has left scars.
