Proposition 129 threatens the health and safety of Colorado’s pets by allowing undertrained individuals to perform surgeries. This ill-conceived measure puts animals in danger, and veterinary organizations such as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) are expressing concern. Vote NO on Prop. 129 this November!

10/10/2024

A Veterinary Professional Associate (VPA) is NOT a mid-level provider like a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. It’s a mostly online degree with minimal hands-on training, not the expertise needed for your pet’s care. Prop. 129 jeopardizes the care Colorado’s animals deserve.

09/30/2024

Colorado, we must fight to protect the quality of animal care in our state. Proposition 129 allows minimally trained individuals, called Veterinary Professional Associates, to perform surgeries after a mostly online program and one-semester internship. Don’t put your pets at risk. Vote NO on 129.

09/18/2024

Creating a Veterinary Professional Associate (VPA) does not create more access to veterinarians. Instead of reducing the workload, it adds new layers of oversight and puts animals in danger. Colorado needs real solutions, not shortcuts.
