First, thank you to the Rocky Mountain Keeshond and Ruth Thompson for putting together a fantastic show for both obedience and rally on Fri! The judges were great and your stewards rocked it!

Second, thank you to Flatirons Kennel Club for a really great show today! There were a lot of moving parts and the obedience and rally rings moved very quickly and efficiently.

Thank you to all the volunteers who kept these shows moving well! You are golden! Thank you!

For Zena's second time at a show site, we did well! She had some placements and nice scores and I learned that I need to chill and smile and maybe even breathe a few times during a run ;-)

• Puppy Next Steps – Sunday, February 4, 4wks with Emily. For Puppies who have had their first class, but are not quite ready for Beginning Obedience – 5 slots available

The Colorado 4H Dog Project needs a rally and an obedience judge to come out and judge Aug 19 and Aug 20 in Pueblo, CO. Two different people are needed since the rings are run in parallel. Aug 19th is for all obedience & all rally classes except Novice and Aug 20th is for Novice Rally. You do NOT need to be a certified judge. You do need to enjoy working with kids and be familiar with the different rally or obedience classes. The rules for 4H are a bit different. The goal of 4H is helping kids learn and grow with their experiences. It's a different feel with some variations in rules for obedience and rally. CO 4H does offer $100 per day plus mileage if you volunteer to judge. The best pay though is watching the kids try their very best with their best friends.

Not sure who had more fun with this...
Zena hunting for lunch or me watching her enjoy the challenge. She used her nose and got comfortable moving her paws around shaky rolly things. So it was a win-win. She had enrichment and confidence building and lunch that took longer to eat and I got to enjoy watching her!

It was pretty easy and inexpensive to put together. I spent the last month collecting plastic bottles/containers and made use of the kiddie pool. I saw that at end of summer a number of people were getting rid of leaky pools. Since this doesn't need to hold water, leaks are ok.

Note: all of the items were cleaned before use and small caps were removed.
