💜Archie
………have toys will travel 😂
Grab a cup of Joe ☕️ … 😂 this is a long posting, but Archie is worth it.
Archie is one of those dogs that’s not popular.
He’s not a popular breed/mix
No one has asked about him at all and he’s been there longer than any other dog at the shelter now.💔. Archie has been at the shelter for almost THREE MONTHS 😥
… BUT WE LOVE HIM AND BELIEVE IN HIM‼️
He’s not trained because he’s never had a home that cared enough to teach him anything.
He is rambunctious and happy. His puppyhood was probably stolen from him because he had to fend for himself. Now he’s finally getting some love and attention and doesn’t know what to do with it.
It’s obvious he’s never walked on a leash, so needs to learn. He gets overexcited when he knows he’s going out of the shelter for a walk.
…….But he can learn all these things with the right person.
…….we can guarantee you this….. HE IS SWEET…. HE IS FRIENDLY ……… and it’s dogs like Archie, an underdog, that can end up being one of the most loyal and loving dogs that anyone could ever want. Someone just has to love him enough to teach him about life with humans.
When he came into the shelter (as a stray on 8/22/25) he was in pitiful shape. Cuts, scrapes, wounds and areas of missing hair was all over his body. He was underweight. His condition tells a familiar story ….. a neglected dog 💔
Archie is young. Believed to be maybe around a year old.
He’s been nothing but sweet and friendly to people and other dogs at the shelter. He has even kissed dogs through the Kennel gates.💜
At first he wanted nothing to do with any toys. He had never had a toy before.
NOW he LOVES toys‼️. The toys are helping him with some enrichment ….. there’s no fenced in area for any of the dogs to be able to play or get exercise. They don’t get out of their kennels except when being cleaned during the week. They get out for a while on Saturdays and Sundays when our two wonderful volunteers go there for a while, and that’s it. 💔
A shelter environment is completely counterintuitive to a dog’s natural needs. They want to run, play, and they navigate their world by smells. They don’t get to smell or touch the grass again once they make it into the shelter, unless one of the volunteers takes them out on a weekend or until we get them out to rescues, fosters or adoptions.
So Archie has learned to entertain himself with TOYS now. He actually calms himself by playing with toys. However, during the week he doesn’t get toys because of the safety issue of having them in his kennel. He gets them for the short while when one volunteer in there on Saturdays and another volunteer is there on Sundays. 😩. He needs that enrichment everyday!

Archie deserves to live a life of love and great care just like every other dog‼️‼️‼️‼️
With LOVE, time to BOND, PATIENCE and TRAINING Archie then he can be a wonderful companion.
If you are up for the work that will be involved to help him it will be worth every minute. Take him home, bond with him, once he trusts you and feels at home, slowly start some training with him and make it fun. He loves treats and he love toys so that makes training a little easier! Make it a game and a bonding time and we promise he will love it. Dogs like Archie that have NEVER HAD A LOVING AND LOYAL HUMAN ARE SO GRATEFUL ❤️
PLEASE consider meeting him. Please message us and set up a time to meet him. Show Archie there are loving and kind people and that HE IS IMPORTANT… that HIS LIFE MATTERS!
⛔️Our funds are completely depleted so Archie and many others have not been to the vet for exams, tests, etc. Archie and dogs at the shelter get their rabies vaccines, DAP, deworming and preventions (when we have them).

We provide all medical, food and supplies while you foster! It’s a great way to perhaps Foster to decide whether to adopt! Getting to know them and letting us know more about them helps us find them the perfect match!

➖Animals can be ADOPTED only to APPROVED HOMES. (Adopt app., Vet references, personal references etc will be required. When feasible a home visit will also be done)

Dog Adoption fee: $150
All animals are sterilized before adoption. Most of the time, if we have the funds and the time, they are also UTD on all core vaccines and other vetting)
➖If you currently have any dogs we suggest to bring them to the shelter to meet the dog you are interested in and bring your family.
➖NO DOGS ARE ADOPTED TO LIVE OUTSIDE! They must be adopted to become INSIDE beloved family members.
⛔️➖Since Archie is not comfortable with a leash yet he definitely needs a fenced yard. He needs a place where he can finally run free and safely.
