💕 Meet Jazzie everyone! 🌸🌺
This sweetie is a red and white Pit mix who was picked up as a stray 8/13/24.
Jazzie loves other dogs and loves people too!
She is young, maybe 1-2 years old.
Our kind, hard-working and compassionate volunteer Kelly says Jazzie is like an old soul.
She also said Jazzie is independent and just does her own thing when she’s out of the pen. She is low maintenance.
Jazzie does great on a leash. She doesn’t require much entertainment, just likes treats and to be loved on. She can be playful but is also very mellow.
Jazzie would fit in very well with an active young family but also just as well with someone older who likes to stay at home 😊

🐾She gets along well with other dogs! Not sure of cats as she hasn’t been cat tested yet. But she has been friendly to all the dogs around her🐾

HARLEY DESPERATELY NEEDS RESCUE, FOSTER OR ADOPTION 🙏
💙 We all love this boy so much! 💙
After three months in boarding, Harley is having some anxiety.
We need desperately to find him a foster, rescue or a new permanent home!!
Harley was a stray that came in 4/24/24. He went into boarding about a month later because we had to make room at the shelter.
He was in rough shape when he first came in. It turned out his skin just needed a little TLC.
Harley gets along great with other dogs! That’s when he is at his happiest 😊 You will see in the video he is letting Jake stand on top of him!
➖He was also cat tested and he did wonderful! He is a sweet and gentle boy!
He is shy around people but he has gotten better. He just needs someone with patience and experience with nervous dogs.
We are truly grateful to the staff at Chowan Veterinary Hospital and Paradise Pet Resort for helping Harley trust more and for the love they show to all of our dogs boarding there.
🎉 Harley is negative for Heartworms and up to date on vaccines.
Harley is approximately four years old and weighs about 50 pounds.
🐾 Harley needs a home with another calm and confident dog so he can learn to interact with people and gain some confidence himself. 🐾

This is Nemo and Dory! They are brother and sister that we’re picked up on Aug. 12th.
We think they are about 4-5 months old and they weigh about 12-15 pounds.
➖ Nemo and Dory have had their first round of puppy vaccines and rabies vaccines. 👍
Nemo is outgoing and spunky but both him and his sister are sad and confused.
😩 An OUTDOOR SHELTER is no place for any dogs let alone puppies! 😩

Take a look at our little miracle, Stevie! At the beginning of the video, he is squirmy and wanting to get down, and I suggested he may want to get down and play, while Anita thought he may be hungry. We were both right. He got down and played, as seen in the video, and as soon as it stopped he went to his food bowl. Anita told me he knew his name, so I asked her to go into another room and call him. When she did, that little thing TOOK OFF FLYING!!! I laughed at him so hard I bout cried! Please consider adding Stevie to your family. He is so entertaining!

I took a greatly loved children's song, "Jesus Loves the Little Children," and modified the lyrics just a little bit. I hope you like it. It is being sung by young people who have been volunteers with our cats or who have adopted one or more cats from us. In the case of those who adopted, they are holding a kitten they adopted. We just love out cats, and we sincerely appreciate these volunteers and adopters. Thank you to Ethan Mizell for his help in assembling this video. Enjoy!

This is your future heart dog Kinley. Kinley was an owner surrender 5/22/24. She is pure love as you can see. Kinley is about two years old and weighs 50 pounds. Sweet Kinley is Heartworm positive so it’s critical we get her into a home so she can start treatment. Kinley has not been around the other dogs a lot, so we recommend bringing your dog to the shelter to meet Kinley if you’re interested in adopting her. Lexie and Riley were strays picked up on 5/22/24. We think Lexie might be Riley’s mom.
She is about two years old and weighs about 60 pounds.

She is up to date on core vaccines.
Our wonderful volunteer Kelly described Lexie this way:
Lexie is a sweet girl. She definitely loves people. I would describe her as curious, excited, and loving. She is extremely affectionate with people and just wants to be in your lap as you can see in the video 💕
Lexie has been walked on a leash a few times and she improves each time! Lexie is a wonderful fun loving girl!
Lexie will be a wonderful addition to any family and a great girl to cuddle in your lap!
