DiamaGroove is one of the best tools to use for filing pet’s nails, and I finally have one!
Although I have to close the grooming salon, I will still be offering mobile nail trimming and filing.
Every dog deserves pretty paws 🐾

To all the wonderful clients and their loved pets,

It’s been a blessing to have met so many breeds, and so many happy dogs the past five years.

I’m am saddened to inform everyone that the salon at 1902 south mulford is forced to closed. My last day open will be August 25th and I will be offering bathing and nails (no clipping fur) for dogs under 50lbs for $25 the 26th-30th.

I am working on applying for grants to open another salon in Rockford that is properly zoned for grooming, but this will take several months. Moving forward I will be offering mobile nail trimming which can be scheduled online.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Lovely Pets and I hope to see you again when I return. I will be learning creative grooming and cording over the next several months, and can’t wait to bring more unique beauty to my hometown of Rockford.

I've been busy working on online booking options to help dedicate more personalized attention to each pet who comes to Lovely Pets. I'm excited to announce on March 1st I will be offering online booking.

Even with all that fur she was a Happy happy doggo!
When a dog comes to me with skin tight matting, it feels like a huge cushion in their body. They have lived with this fur for at least a year and I try my best to have them come home with something to still cushion their bones and skin so their body doesn’t go into shock. For this Girl, she had very dry skin, two baths left her flake free and smelling great, she wasn’t dirty, just no airflow to the skin left her very dry. I began by using scissors to cut the back portion to slowly release the matting and allow air to the skin, then I began trimming her face down, and then the body and legs, I didn’t use a clipper until after her bath and she was dry because when you’re clipping a heavily matted dog, the clippers pull on the matting and it’s very uncomfortable for the dog. Most groomers would have pulled out their “7F” or “10” blade and got to work, I was able to leave 1/2” of fur for this girl and even then she still had many bald areas due to no air flow on skin. This customer originally called me because they thought I was a mobile groomer(I get a lot of these calls but I only do nail trims in their home) I’m happy they still gave me a chance as this dog needed several breaks between working on different areas and needed the chance to develop a good experience that was not rushed.
