Good morning everyone!! I will try to make this post as nice as possible😂😂 starting this week I will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays… and will be open Wednesday through Sunday … as many of y’all know I work a lot… I have been working 6 days a week and to be honest I need an extra day to catch up to myself… as most of y’all don’t know, I run about 60-70 pets through my little shop every week… I do my best to accommodate everyone… but I’m tired and trying to get everything done in one day is nearly impossible most weeks…
For those that are already scheduled on Tuesdays, I will be open to take care of you!!

Well it was the sweetest hello and the hardest goodbye… I want to thank everyone for the prayers, thoughts and kind words… and for giving me the time to go and spend the holiday with my mom…
I’m exhausted mentally, emotionally, and physically… making that 10 hour drive isn’t as easy as it used to be…

To all my wonderful customers and friends…. Salty Paws will be closed until the first of the new year.. I left today to make the much needed trip to see my momma…. I want to thank everyone for all the prayers … she is back home now, not necessarily ready for that but I’m sure a lot of you are aware of how crappy Medicare is for the elderly… they quit paying so she is home….it has been a very stressful 5 weeks and the love and support I have recieved has overwhelmed me❤️
Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas in case my service is spotty when I finally reach my destination….

Good evening to all my wonderful customers and friends…. I’m not usually the type to put all my personal business out for everyone to see, but at this point it is somewhat necessary to say what I need to stop the rumors and misleading stories that have started circulating…. Long story short, my mother is almost 700 miles away from here…2 1/2 weeks ago she fell and fractured her humerus bone… while in the hospital she caught pneumonia and has been in icu for a week a half… i have had an internal battle with myself as to whether I should go or stay here… she is slowly improving and so I have decided not to go.. but today we learned she has MRSA
in her lungs… so she still has a big fight ahead…
With that being said, I’m doing my best to keep myself together… if anything changes and I have to leave, I am apologizing in advance… but for now, I am open to take care of everyone…

Happy Tuesday to all my customers… quick update…. I’m taking in larger dogs now… as I have said before, if your pup is extremely difficult to do, unfortunately I will not be able to it… although the main part of my healing is done, I still have a good 6 months for complete fusion…
With that being
said, I look forward to taking care of everyone again… I will do my best to get you taken care of in a timely mannner… I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!! ❤️🐾❤️🐾

Hello to all my wonderful customers…. Finally an update for everyone… please keep in mind that I’m not trying to hurt anybody’s feelings or play favorites… I am back open… but… I have only been released to do small dogs… with that being said, if your dog is difficult I am unable to do it right now… Surgeon made it very clear that if I had any dogs that I had to fight with to get the job done, not to do them… I have been slowly contacting people to schedule appointments… right now I’m only able to do a few dogs a day… it will get better and I am continuously trying to do more when I can… keep in mind I have 4 titanium plates In my neck and this will take up to a year to completely heal…if you would like to touch base with me about getting your pups done, feel free to do so… I cannot promise that I will be able to do them right away but if not, I will put you on a list to contact when I am able to do them…

Quick update for everyone… the deed is done!!
I am back home… everything went well and already much improvement! It s going to be a long 2-3 months because day 2 out of surgery and I’m already bored🤣🤣🤣
Wanted to thank everyone for the prayers and for the ones that have checked up on me afterwards!! I will continue to keep updating with progress!! Hope everyone has a blessed day!!❤️🙏

At last I have an update for everyone…. Surgery is next Friday… it is a major surgery and I will closed for at least 2 months , most likely longer depending on my healing progress… with that being said , right now I’m booked up until surgery… I didn’t have as much of a notice as I had hoped for so people that had already been scheduled have taken those spots… I appreciate everyone’s kind words and thoughts… I will keep everyone updated as everything progresses… in the meantime, I will be getting a list together of all the local groomers in the area in case anyone needs info and I will post in the next few days…
I’m not closing down for good… this is a temporary setback but hopefully I will be able to work and function better than ever when I return!!!

Ok folks… for those out there that don’t understand what happened to my neck… I have severe Degenerative disk disease… apparently I have had it for a while , and I suppose since I tend to have a high pain tolerance and most of the time just power through my days, it has caught up with me…
I’m still not taking any new customers… and for my current customers, i apologize if I can’t get you in as quick as some of y’all may like or are used to, I am doing my best just to get through my days now… for those that are understanding , I truly appreciate it…
Without posting my MRI report or CT scan report because most of the wording is medical terminology that most people wouldn’t understand… so I have included a snapshot of my X-ray findings from my surgeon…I still have to have an EMG test done on the 21st of June and then hopefully surgery soon to follow.. but I will keep everyone updated… I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend!!

Good afternoon everyone… so here is a quick update as to what will happen in the near future… I had my consult with the surgeon today..I have to go in next week for a CT scan… and then more tests to follow…
Houston Methodist is apparently very thorough🤣 but I do have some other things going on with my neck that I originally wasn’t told but other doctor… some of my vertebrae are bone on bone.. there is no disc left… so when surgery does happen it won’t be as easy as I had originally hoped for… I’m still working and will continue to do so until I am unable to…thanks for your understanding… 🐾🐾❤️❤️

Quick update for everyone!!!
Without going into all tiny little details, I will most likely be having surgery on my neck this year… next few weeks will be physical therapy (not sure how often I will have to go) and neck injection scheduled for April 10th.. basically this is for insurance purposes … they make you go through the steps…
I can’t take nerve blockers because of my other medical conditions.. I don’t metabolize medication like a normal person.. and I choose not to be high on pills while I’m trying to groom your fur babies…
I will be scheduling a consult with the surgeon in the very near future to find out what all it will involve and what my restrictions and limitations will be so I can try to be the least disruptive to the business…

Happy Sunday morning everyone!!! I know I haven’t been posting a lot… so here is a quick update…my hours of operation are not set in stone right now.. I finally got in to have an MRI yesterday for my neck..needless to say multiple issues, but main ones are that I have two vertebrae that are slipping and I have major bone spurs from C5-C7 that are affecting my nerves and my spinal canal… I will be going for a follow up on Tuesday to see what can be done next… yes I’m doing everything possible to avoid surgery…
Next… as many of you know, I recently had covid… well apparently it has played havoc on my body … I have other medical issues including thyroid problems and now my levels are really unstable..
so please be patient.. I will have multiple doctors visits in the near future trying to get everything straightened out…
I appreciate all the recommendations but as of right now, I’m currently not taking any new customers!! I do apologize but right now my load is just too much to keep up with..

Merry Christmas Eve to all my friends, customers and prospective customers!… I wanted to take a few minutes to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New years… as some of you know, and many that didn’t know, I am recovering from Covid.. this was my first holiday season in over 22 years that I have been forced to shut down during prime season because of an illness… Big apologies to everyone that I had to cancel or that I couldn’t fit in before Christmas… I’m not one to let an illness get her down but I’m gonna be honest with y’all and say that covid after effect are kicking my butt! I will be taking a few days off to continue to recover and hopefully get this nasty chest congestion dealt with…
