On this we’re celebrating the adoption of another fan favorite: Winnie! Winnie arrived at one week old as the tiniest little puff, found alone in a field. She pulled through with the help of a dedicated bottle-feeding foster, who worked round the clock to keep Winnie fed and thriving. She grew up to have an affectionate, adventurous, spirited personality and made many friends along the way. She began the next step of her journey today with her new family! Happy Adoption Day, Winnie 🖤🤍

Miss Ducky got to go home today!! She was a very popular little fluff and finally met her best fit family. Having been fostered by several WAHS team members since she was a bitty kitten, it was a bittersweet day to send her off. Ducky’s presence will be missed but everyone’s equally thrilled for her and her adopter to begin life together 😻 Happy Adoption Day, Ducky!

Bruce’s adoption is official! After a successful foster-to-adopt stay, this big boy is home for good. He hit the jackpot with people who adore him and a dog sibling to match his play and keep him company each day - everything he could ever dream of 🥰 Congratulations to Bruce, and thank you to his family for adopting!

Four of the “Seven Dwarves” crew are still waiting to find their forever connections! Happy, Sleepy, Grumpy, and D***y are all delightful, playful, and loving teenaged kittens. They’ve each been updated on medical care and would be wonderful playmates to adopt in pairs - or join homes that already have a feline resident to bond with.

Another foster-to-adopt success story! Dwayne, who came to WAHS through Animal Control as a stray dog, went quite a while without potential adoption visits. But then the right family came along, he went home on a trial basis, and he fit in like he was always meant to be there 🥰 Dwayne quickly bonded with all the family members and they make sure he feels all the love and attention he missed out on before. We’re so grateful it was a good match. Congratulations to Dwayne & family!

There are many 2024 highlights to look back on and celebrate. One of which was getting to meet this majestic, wonderful boy named Duke, and connecting him with his dream forever family 🥹

Duke caught many families’ attention but needed a very specific home, and in December he definitely found his people. Duke’s adopters had previous Dane experience, the ability to care for his needs, and their connection upon meeting was evident. Thanks to the community’s generosity, Duke got to go home with a LOT of his specialty food which gave his family a great start!

Duke has a special place in many hearts and we can’t wait to see all the great things ahead for him and his family. Thank you to Duke’s adopters for welcoming him home, and congratulations to all!

Thank you to every community member and follower for another collaborative, successful year of animal rescue work! Your donations, support, and kindness allowed WAHS the ability to provide shelter, care, rehabilitation, and forever homes to many of the area’s cats and dogs in need.

Although the work is never done, every animal saved makes a world of difference. It’s all possible because of many individuals coming together to share their generosity, and we can’t thank you enough. Looking forward to more lives changed, homes for those in need, and good things to come in 2025! 🥳🎉👏

Every Caturday is exciting, but Tito and Clyde had an extra special reason to celebrate: they were officially cleared from their ringworm quarantine time and graduated to a front bay today! Both boys had a blast running round and round, exploring their new surroundings, and of course getting allllll the snuggles with volunteers.

Tito and Clyde are each ready to be adopted; all their info is on our website, along with the online application. They’d be a fantastic pair to join a home together for anyone able to adopt two kittens!
