Winona Area Humane Society The Winona Area Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter organization located in Winona, MN!

WAHS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter organization located in Winona, MN. We do not receive any state or federal funding - so our operations are largely made possible through generous contributions, fundraising, and adoption/surrender fees! We are a small but bustling humane society with a passion for helping every animal that we can! Our facility offers open bay housing for cats,

medical treatment rooms, large & small dog kennels, outdoor runs, and a walking trail for dogs. Our organization operates on an appointment-only basis for adoptions, animal visits, and volunteering opportunities. If you're a good fit for an animal, we'll contact you to set up an appointment! Building Hours (by appointment):
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - 12:00pm to 5:00pm
Saturday - 10:00am to 2:00pm
Sunday and Monday - closed

It was Tongue Out Tuesday with the best boys: Atlas and Chakra 😎

Chakra’s gotten a LOT of interest in the last few days, but Atlas has only had a small handful of apps/visits since his arrival back in April. Can we get him an extra boost to find some potential family matches? 🤞🏼

While Atlas is still working on some training, he has come a long way, he’s so outgoing, and he’s eager to please. Atlas is waiting for that special person or family to come along, give him a chance, and let him show his companionship qualities.

Please share! This small/medium sized female shepherd mix was found on a rural road in the Elba/Whitewater area this week. No collar or tags present. She is not in WAHS’ care, but we’re sharing to help spread the word and reach a possible family missing her. This sweetheart is the total package! Chakra is now neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines—ready to roll right into your life.

With a calm, loving energy, he thrives on attention and is a pro at meeting new people. Chakra walks beautifully on leash, is potty trained (may need a little grace as he settles into a new home routine), and listens like a champ.

Chakra’s also a total goofball with a great love for tennis balls and zoomies, making playtime his favorite part of the day. He’s a full-contact lover—expect kisses, cuddles, and constant companionship!
