Looking to spread a little cheer with a simple but essential gift? Great! Louis has the perfect howliday request: he and some of his canine buddies are in need of pill pockets to help their medication times go smoothly.

Any flavor of Greenies Pill Pockets will do, and even a small bag makes a difference.

Donations are happily accepted via our wishlists (linked in the comments) or dropped off during regular business hours. Thank you in advance – you’ll be making a lot of pups very happy!

Facilitating successful reunions between missing pets and their families is a central mission of Winona Area Humane Society – and it all begins with getting information shared as quickly as possible.

This year, WAHS partnered with PawBoost, a free service with the largest lost & found pet database. Every stray that comes to WAHS is automatically shared in the database, reducing reliance on social media as the sole source of information and getting more animals seen.

We urge everyone to join the PawBoost network so you’re prepared if you ever lose a pet, find a pet, or want to join the effort in getting pets home to their families!

Here’s what every person can do:
✔️ Sign up for alerts via email
📲 Download the PawBoost app
👍 Like the Minnesota - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets - PawBoost page so their Facebook posts show up for you. This is the page where our stray intakes are shared.
🔍 Review the Pawboost website and blog posts for a whole host of useful information
‼️ Keep an eye on recently shared lost and found pets in your area

The more people who are in the network, the better the odds! This is something *everyone* can do to be an animal advocate, save shelter space, and most importantly help pets get back home safely 🫶

What began as a foster placement has concluded with a forever bond formed between Meleys, a gorgeous young kitten, and her family 💞

Meleys went home with a shelter staff members to give her a break and provide playful companionship for their resident cat, another WAHS alum.

It soon became clear that she was home to stay 🥹 Not only had Meleys connected with her humans, but she got along wonderfully with the resident pets, strongly bonding with her foster brother especially — they’re truly two peas in a pod! Clearly meant to be friends for life.

Congratulations to Meleys and her family on their official adoption!
