Purl is keeping her eyes protected while receiving laser therapy following her teeth cleaning. She also had a couple small teeth removed today. This laser therapy will help with inflammation and aid in pain reduction. Nicole and Alyson, Certified Veterinary Technicians, are also wearing their shades to protect their eyes too! [Fun fact: Those of you who knit will recognize why Purl's name is spelled this way!]
A DENTAL CARE TIP FROM DR. CHAFFIN AND REX 🐾
When brushing your pet’s teeth, do not use human toothpaste. This can cause your pet to become sick. You can buy toothpaste that is safe and in flavors your pet will like. Start when they are puppies and kittens by introducing the toothpaste first. Then one can start by brushing with a finger brush or regular soft bristle brush. Rex was trained to accept the spin brush and prefers the vanilla mint toothpaste. It's less work for me! You can even make it part of your daily routine. Just don't get the brushes mixed up!
