Santo was called by DPS to assist with a vehicle search in another county. Santo cruised over and quickly alerted to the ⁹presence of illicit drugs. Santo got his treat and returned to K-Town to keep yall safe.

Officer Santo is seen here helping out Officer Cook, who's in his last few weeks of training. Ofc. Cook had been serving in the Navy for approximately 10 years before joining our ranks last spring.

Officer Santo's nose got a workout last night as he had several successful searches both in Kilgore and a neighboring city (M**h and M**A).

It was a very quiet night in Kilgore as we enjoyed a win over Chapel Hill. For the lady who was caught shoplifting at Walmart, you left your driver's license when you fled loss prevention before KPD arrived. Don't fret. You can pick it up from Detectives next week. 😀

On 04/11/24 at approx. 18:15 hrs, Patrol Deputy Dalton Flowers while on routine patrol in the northern end of Decatur County received information from Benton County Deputies of a Mr. Robert Floyd who was operating a motor vehicle in the area with a revoked drivers license. Deputy Flowers spotted the subject and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop investigation, Deputy Flowers deployed his K-9 “Dixi” for a vehicle search were the K-9 did alert on the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the following items were discovered:

Approximately 154 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be m**hamphetamine. Approximately 83 grams of a green leafy plant material believed to be ma*****na. A bottle of a liquid substance believed to be Steroids. A Ta**us 380 pistol, various drug paraphernalia including scales, needles, straws, glass pipe and $1577.00 in cash. Mr. Floyd was transported to the Decatur County Detention Center and charged with the following:
1. Poss of sch 2 drug w/ intent
2. Poss of sch 3 drug
3. Poss of sch 6 drug with intent
4. Poss of drug paraphernalia
5. Poss of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony.
6. Driving on a revoked drivers license.

The above defendant is presumed Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Santo sniffed out some m**h last night on a car stop. The female areestee has been booked into the B&B.

M**h is a thief. M**h will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.

Hell yeah!

The January Employee of the Month is Ofc. Caleb Watson and his partner Santo. They were nominated by their peers for their recent drug arrests. The nomination stated they are always available to help our officers with drug sniffs or other departments when they are called upon. The nomination noted a recent arrest in which they were sent on a reckless driver call, and once they finally caught up to the driver, the driver was slow to stop. After the initial stop, they learned the driver had thrown out a bag. Officer Watson and Santo surveyed the area and found the bag discarded on the roadway. There was an affirmative link to the bag, and the driver was arrested. The bag was found to contain the following: 110 grams of m**h, Adderall, Hydrocodone, some green stuff, and scales.

Just this week, the dynamic duo has made two other m**h arrests.
