🥶 With the below-freezing temperatures this week, here are some tips to keep our furry friends safe while enjoying their outdoor adventures!

🧊 Avoid heavily treated areas - most salts aren’t pet-friendly and can be toxic. Be sure to give your pet’s paws a good wipe down to remove any debris or harmful chemicals.
🎿 Protect those toe beans with a paw balm or booties to shield them from snow, ice and salt.
🧥 Keep your pup warm with a jacket - especially short-haired breeds who are more prone to the cold (plus, they look so cute in them!).

Our team aims to take extra precaution with monitoring your pets during this frigid time. If you have an appointment with us, please ensure pathways are cleared of ice and snow to keep everyone safe! ❄️

✨ It’s time for another team member spotlight!✨

Meet Meredith! She has been working with Venture since August, and we are so happy to have her on our team. When she’s not walking dogs, she is crafting the cutest dog accessories! 😍

Meredith recently launched her own dog bandana company, The Bandana Girl. It all started with Meredith, her grandma “Ebee” and their love for sewing together. This led them to start a new project and begin creating snap bandanas for dogs. They had so much fun designing unique bandanas with all sorts of colors and patterns. Meredith’s dog, Ruby, served as a fashion model for each banana they created.

Meredith is so proud of what her business has become and she enjoys seeing how happy her bandanas makes people and their dogs. 🐶

Rain or shine, we are ✨this✨ excited to see
your pups! Whether your dog loves or hates the rain, we’ll spend quality one-on-one time with them. If you’re looking to give your dog some extra enrichment on these rainy days, here are some ideas to keep them entertained:

🧩 Hiding treats in puzzle toys, Kongs or snuffle
mats.
🤌🏼 Practicing tricks and incorporating new tricks
for treats.
😋 Spreading a yummy treat like plain yogurt, pumpkin or peanut butter on a lick mat are great boredom busters.
🎾 Playing fetch or tug of war inside to stretch their legs and get them moving. You can even create an obstacle course by using various household objects!

It’s time for another team member ✨ spotlight ✨ Everyone, meet Lisa! 🤗

Lisa has been working with Venture since April of this year and we are so lucky to have her on our team. All of the dogs and cats love her and we can see why! When she’s not out walking dogs, she is healing animals with her special talent of animal Reiki.

Lisa has called Winston-Salem home since 2011 and is the proud rescue mama of two dogs and four cats. 🐾She is a lover of all animals and devoted to animal rescue. A lifelong intuitive and healer, she is dedicated to the healing and well-being of animals and their people through energy medicine and Reiki infused accessories such as collars and collar charms. She originally began studying Reiki and energy healing to serve and support her senior rescue dog, Lucy, during her golden years.

Now a Reiki Master and Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner, she is honored to share her gift with others. She founded Sacred Wellness Animal Reiki in February 2023 after serving the animal companions of family and friends for over a decade and seeing the remarkable results. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, stress reduction and overall well-being. For humans and animals, Reiki can alleviate anxiety, support recovery from trauma or illness, and enhance overall vitality. It’s also beneficial for creating a sense of calm during transitions such as moving into a new home, aging or the end-of-life process.
