He is one of the sweetest, happiest boys we have in our Rescue.
Blue loves other dogs, big and small!

He is crate trained and walks great on a head halter.
Blue does need to stay on a maintenance daily dose of Apoquel for those pesky allergies to keep him feeling good!

This last weekend we got invited to a baby gender reveal party for one of our former fosters!

We have been very fortunate to have one of our two time adopters set us up with a military K9 handler (currently retired out), Quinton.
Quinton has stepped up to help one of our co-founders with learning to grow his skills with dog handling (as our co-founder works with our sweet girl, Sandy) and has started working with our sweet, stubborn but so much fun, Lokie!
The more we spend time with him the more we learn, share somewhat similar tales of our past dog experiences and have come to appreciate all that he has to offer our local community!
This upcoming Sunday we will be having Quinton at our boarding kennel that we have been keeping our dogs at that have had no fosters or adopters (sadly we are losing this resource and our dogs do need to find foster homes or adoptive homes to move to as quickly as possible).
Quinton has offered to anyone who may be interested in Sandy or Lokie to come out and meet them with him present and he is more than happy to answer any questions and provide any assistance needed to help see if Sandy or Lokie might be a good fit for your home!

We have awesome news!
Last Friday we drove up to Darla’s with Connecting with K9’s to pick up our girl Cocoa to get her blood tested to see if her treatment for anaplasmosis was successful and…she is now testing normal and has been cleared for her spay surgery!
This beautiful little bundle of fun energy will be getting her spay on Sept 16th and then will be available for adoption!
Who wouldn’t fall in love with Levi??
We rescued this boy several months ago and we are shocked he still has not been adopted!
Levi is dog, cat, kid friendly and his only issue is chewing on things he is not supposed to (possibly from boredom) and we believe having another playful pup would help with the boredom chewing.

Update on Poppy!
We wanted to give an update on our crazy kitten, Poppy, that ran so hard into a door her eye was extremely inflamed and she had us all really concerned…
We gave her meloxicam for the pain and inflammation and her eye (as you can see in the video she now has her crazy kitten energy back!) is on its way to nicely healing.
Poppy has done so well that we have moved her to her foster to adopt home! ❤️🐾

Dobbie needs a forever home
Dobbie is probably about 2 yrs old now, a Dobie mix and is looking for his forever home!
He is cat friendly, good with dogs smaller than him and kids 12 yrs and older.
He loves his people, is smart and is still in his silly puppyness stage of bouncing and being goofy.

Levi at his first adoption event! 🐾
Levi wants to say a big “Thank You” to our friends at FCAT Thrift Shop for hosting our August adoption event.
We had some people who came to see our pups from as far as North Bend!
FCAT had a few adoptions as well but have plenty more kittens, adult cats and barn cats available for adoption!
We hope to see more of you next month! 🐾

Scooter (a neglected senior pup) was dumped in horrible shape and left to fend for himself.
There is no way this boy could run away from home…he was dumped in this condition and his people weren’t concerned for his safety!
The finder reached out to a friend of our rescue and she posted asking for a rescue. By the time we saw him, no one had said “Yes” so we did!!
Tomorrow Scooter goes to our vet and we will see if there is anything we can do for him.
Scooter will cry out sometimes when you pick him up. The first couple times he tried biting but he quickly came to realize we were there to love & care for him…and we may have won him over with ground beef and chicken 😁
He is otherwise the sweetest, cutest little guy! He goes belly up for belly rubs and enjoys having his ears scratched.
There was no way we could ignore the plea to help him but since getting him this weekend we now have 4 other dogs have urgent issues so they all need to be seen tomorrow PLUS a volunteer is headed to Bend with 3 other senior pups to get their dentals done so we could really use some donations to help offset all of these vet bills 😫

Blue is now ready for adoption!
🎊 We have great news 🗞️
Blue’s histology came back, as we previously reported, and his tumor on his pen*s was cancer.
Our Vet believes that she got all of it but we were told we needed to check to make sure that this was the main tumor and not one that metastasized from a tumor in the heart, spleen or liver, so…
We scheduled to take Blue back for radiographs last Wednesday to look for any signs of a tumor and none were found!!
This means that the tumor that was removed was the main tumor, and our boy has been cleared to go up for adoption 🥰
Blue is approximately 5-6 yrs old, is dog friendly (big & small dogs) but please no cats as Blue believes those are for his chasing enjoyment 😬
Blue wants a human to include him in lots of fun activities. As long as you use his head halter, he does not pull on leash.
He is the sweetest boy that has a great disposition and an enjoyment for life!

Monty needs a foster home ASAP
Monty is a 9 wk old male mixed breed puppy that arrives tomorrow and needs a foster home local to the Roseburg, OR area
(Black & tan puppy has a foster home).
He is not fully vaccinated so he cannot be outside with his paws on the ground. (We can provide you with an Xpen and ground covering for outdoor potty time).
Mom is a GSD but we have no info on the dad.

Pacer is still looking for a foster home

Pacer is an approx 8/9 yo male Pomeranian mix who is still in need of a local foster home.
He has done great with other dogs and paid no attention to the cat he has been around.
He hates being away from his human so maybe a disabled or retired person who is home a lot and just needs a companion?
If you are within 1 hr from downtown Roseburg and would like to foster this little guy (he is approx 10lbs) then please message our rescue directly!
Diego’s update from his great escape!
We want to thank every one who reached out on Diego, who went driving through the area he was last seen at to try to see if he could be spotted and who reached out wanting to know if he was ok!!
Here is his update:
He is safely back at his foster home, back to being his normal demanding-to-be-picked-up self 😅
After he was caught he was taken to our vet at Parkway Animal Hospital where they made time in their busy day to fully check Diego out.
We were thrilled to hear there were no burned pads or any damage to his feet! Diego had been running through areas with lots of foxtails but fortunately not a single foxtail was found on him!
Our vet did do some sub q fluids as he was fortunately only mildly dehydrated and after his very recent dental she noticed some gunk in his mouth that might indicate an infection possibly starting so he was immediately put on antibiotics to combat that risk.
Otherwise our boy just needs some rest and we expect he will be back to his normal sweetheart self!
Once again, I want to thank our foster and her girls and granddaughter who were all instrumental in helping us to be able to apprehend our fugitive at large! 🙄
But also a huge thank you to another foster who was working in the area and went early to drive around and actually spotted our boy and immediately reached out to let us know she had eyes on him so we could call in reinforcements and do what we do!
Every rescue (or re-rescue) is only successful because many people come together for the animal!
And our rescue truly has some awesome people in our rescue village! ❤️🐾
