Today, our sweet southern white rhino, Mguu, turns 5! 🌟 To celebrate her golden birthday, her amazing keepers made her a special treat that she absolutely loved. 🐻 Bear-y First Hibernation! 🐾
Our brown bears Teddy and Takelma are in the midst of their very first hibernation—and it's adorably chaotic! Watch as they figure out the art of cozying up, using bales of hay to create their den for the winter. It's all part of their natural instincts kicking in, along with taking cues from their more experienced neighbors!
At the end of the video, you'll see Chochmo and Takoda—our seasoned hibernation pros—already enjoying some down time in their perfectly crafted bed. 😴 They've got this thing down to a science!
Who else is ready to snuggle up for the winter like these bears?
Rise and Shine with Bandit! ☀️
Start your day the Bandit way—with a big yawn and a stretch! Our American badger Bandit is paws-itively adorable as he wakes up in the chilly morning air. Right now, Bandit is in torpor, a state where his body slows down to conserve energy during colder months. 🦡❄️
We hope you get to enjoy some extra restful moments like Bandit with the holidays quickly approaching!

Exciting Baby News at Wildlife Safari! 🦘
We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of a new wallaroo joey, born to mom Kari! At about 6 months old, this little one is just starting to peek out of Kari's pouch, taking its first tiny steps into the world. 🌏In about three more months, the joey will leave the pouch permanently to explore and bounce around on its own!
Our amazing keepers worked tirelessly to build trust with Kari, training her for pouch checks using all of her favorite yummy treats. Thanks to their efforts and Kari's bond with her team, we’ve been able to capture incredible images of the joey growing safely inside her pouch. ❤️
Fun Fact: When wallaroos are born, they’re only the size of a jelly bean! 😲They will then enter the safety of their mothers pouch where they continue to grow!
Check out the adorable video to see our newest bundle of joy and the special connection between Kari and her keepers. 📸✨ Come visit us at Wildlife Safari to celebrate this precious addition to our wallaroo troupe!
Celebrate International Cheetah Day with Us! 🐾🌍 Today, we honor the world’s fastest land animal and their fight for survival.
Here at Wildlife Safari, another week older means another week wilder for our two curious cubs, Hendrix and Zeppelin! 🐆💛
Zuri, the most genetically valuable female cheetah in North America, is raising her cubs solo for the very first time—and she’s proving to be an amazing mom. This milestone is not just a win for Wildlife Safari but a significant step in global cheetah conservation efforts. 🌟
Did you know? There are fewer than 7,000 cheetahs left in the wild, making conservation initiatives like ours more crucial than ever. Your support helps us provide a safe environment for cheetahs to thrive and contributes to their survival for generations to come.
🎥 Watch the video to see Zuri and her cubs in action, and join us in celebrating these magnificent creatures!
🌟 This Giving Tuesday, you can help us go the extra mile—literally! 🚐🐾

Who else misses summer? 🐻💦 Throwback to Odie and Yogi living their best bear life in their pool this past summer! 🐾 These playful black bear brothers are now taking their first-ever winter naps as they enter torpor.
Torpor is a natural hibernation process for black bears, but it's a big milestone for Odie, Yogi, and their fellow cubs. Typically, young bears experience their first hibernation season with their mom to help guide them, so it’s a bit of a learning curve without her. Our team is working hard to ensure the cubs feel secure and undisturbed as they settle into their winter rest.
While the little ones are still curious and check on their keepers during care routines, our older bears, aged 15 and 16, are true hibernation pros—barely stirring at all! 💤 We’ll be keeping a close, quiet eye on all the bears as they rest up, and they’ll be back out for viewing in February. 🐻✨ Plus, we’re hoping to bring back our hibernation encounters next winter!
For now, let’s wish these sleepy bears sweet dreams. 🐾💤 Who’s excited to see them again in the spring? 🌸
