Meet Dr. Cuevas! Dr. Cuevas is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus where she completed a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology and a master’s in public health. Before her doctorate journey, Dr. Cuevas worked as a veterinary nurse at a Primate Research Facility for multiple years, caring for rhesus macaques. She graduated as a DVM from Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, where she actively participated in programs aimed at fostering diversity in veterinary medicine as well as One Health Initiatives. Within the veterinary field, she is particularly interested in internal medicine, neurology, wound care, small mammals, birds, and reptiles, and considers herself an advocate for access to care.
